Question about Ginger Ale
I have my fridge set to the coldest possible setting so as to keep everything as cold as possible without freezing. I lika mia sturf kold mayn
Ginger Ale seems to disobey all the rules sometimes and I'm curious as to why. Sometimes I can have a plastic, two-litre bottle of Ginger Ale that is fine till the last drop, other times it will start to freeze and eventually turn to ice within the bottle itself.
Anyone have any ideas why the results are so inconsistant?
BTW, placement within the fridge seems to make little or no difference to the results.

I actually checked around a few links and didn't find anything which pertained to Ginger Ale. There is alot about ginger though. I have found the more expensive brands of soda in 2 liters.... hold out longer than the cheaper stuff.

lol, you mean before I put it in the fridge?
What do I do if my daugher wants some?
"Dad, what's that funny taste in the pop?"
Oh that's nothing honey, it's an additive to keep it from freezing.
"MMMMMMMM, sure tastes yummy but tell me daddy, why is the room spinning?"

No....add it AFTER you take it out. It's sure to melt any accrued ice and mask any wierd taste.

ya no sh1t3, rofl
I don't want to turn into an alcoholic just to keep the ice level down on my ginger ale, I'de rather that it didn't freeze in the first place. Hmmn, time to stop drinking the stuff me thinks :?

You know the "recipes" for these substances are really involved-they've got contingency plans id the price on this or that ingredient gets too high or is unavailable.
I've seen stuff written alluding to all this but I've never quite gotten it from the horse's mouth.

Look at the ingredients on a can of soda, you see things like high fructose corn syrup and/or cane sugar
Products made with oils will usually list several types of oil-this off a bag of white rounds [garden of eatin]
expeller pressed canola oil and/or safflower oil and/or sunflower oil-they look for good buys and if it's a reputable firm they also take into account quality issues-freshness,etc-
It isn't all the same game as you see in a cookbook-they experiment with different ways of acheving the same flavour and quality because the markets are in constant flux.
