Puter -vs- Hobbies
Has your computer time, thru the years, slowly taken you away from your original hobbies......painting, reading, gardening, playing an instrument, whatever.....?
Mine really has....and I wonder if it has any effect of our happiness or feelings of personal achievement.

My computer has become a new hobby. The reason I've allowed it to happen is it's the only hobby I have that has enriched both my artistic talents and enriched my mind at the same time. Not to mention it's a hobby that is enriched and molded by people I care about and strangers I have yet to meet.

my computer has taken place of my hobbies. I used to sew clothes for the kids, do some really awesome crafts and that all slowly went bye-bye when I got a computer and the internet. making graphic sets and webpages took over. I had a graphic site full of sets and it just disapeared one day off the internet. I have no idea what happened and I never did put it back on there.
I think i'll start sewing again since i have the little one here now. Make her some cute summer clothes and special occasion fancy dresses. I miss sewing.

Last year I was a computer freak (LS, mainly). It does affect the time I get to reading, but then I get bored quite easily. On the other hand, last year I swam more, jogged more, exercised more than ever in my life.
Didn't read as much as I would have liked to, though. But... I cut out TV. If I'd have continued to watch TV and stay on the internet... I woud have failed in school I'm 100% sure. I catch up with news on the net, newspapers online, researches, and honestely, I think I'm better informed.
I was really tempted by my TV. I'm free now, LOOL.
(Hope you don't think I'm a weirdo for doing so)[/code]

I only use the computer at work. I used to spend late nights and every morning before work on the computer but I never did anything else. So now I read or sew or do jig-saw puzzles in the morning and just enjoy the quiet time. I hardly ever watch tv or movies, sometimes I check my email on the weekends but I try not to spend too much time online, I have too many other things to do.

I spend as much time online as I do at work. Running websites is not just a hobby, it's really becoming a full time job. I'm not complaining though because it's a labor of love.

I haven't been online as much the last week or so....but I generally am on the puter much more.
I can tell when I've been on too long when I have dust bunnies under the bed....... and know more people online than in real life. (Both which are usually true!!)
