Yes I went to mine. It was quite a number of years ago and I had a good time going with a friend of mine.

don't feel bad luba, I didn't have one either because I quit school too. I quit because I was on my own at 16 and needed to work to support myself.

I went to my 10th grade prom with a friend. I went to my 11th grade prom with my brother. By the time my Senior prom rolled around I was engaged to someone older and skipped the whole thing. I really don't have any fabulous prom memories other than what I wore.

I have a wonderful prom story...the names have been changed to protect the innocent. Of course being that it happened to me, it's a comedy of errors but it was one of the most incredible nights of my life.
A little background information, I had this friend, who was a girl who I will call Bobbie Jo. One time Bobbie Jo got really sick and didn't make it to school for a week, I was really worried so I went to the florist to buy her a big bouquet of flowers in hope of cheering her up so she would get better. I didn't think anything of it but the girl who waited on me was Bunny, now Bunny was a very attractive girl, in fact she was homecoming queen but I didn't have her in any of my classes and didn't really know her so I never gave her a second thought.
Four weeks before prom, I asked Mary Alice to go to the prom with me. I liked Mary Alice, we had a very flirtaceous relationship, always teasing each other, pinching butts and we had even kissed once so I was really looking forward to kickin' it up a notch. She said yes. A week passed and she called me and told me that she had gotten in trouble with her parents and was grounded for a month, strike one. I was disappointed but determined to still go to my prom, I asked Bobbie Jo, she said yes. A week passed and she told me she had just got a new job that she really liked and had to work that night, strike two. Not one to give up, I asked Daisy, she was a good friend and a fun loving girl. One week later (the week of the prom) she tells me that over the weekend she met a guy but because it was the week of the prom she was still going to go with me and he was still going with his date.
The hunt was on...We had a nice dinner at a famous restaurant, it was a really good time, laughing, enjoying the good food. Before we went into the dance I had a couple of glasses of champagne, this was like only the third time I'd ever had alcohol, so I was pretty buzzed. We danced a couple of dances, took our prom pictures and then she said to me, "I want to dance with so and so". I'm like, "oh and what am I supposed to do?" She said nonchalantly, "You can dance with Bunny". I looked over at her and she was like a dream in white. We danced a couple of fast dances and then the music slowed. She leaned into me and whispered in my ear, "You're a really great dancer and what you did for Bobbi Jo was a really good thing" and she danced very close to me. The next thing I know, we're kissing right on the dance floor, I was in heaven. We danced right off the floor and went outside where we continued kissing under the stars, it was wonderful, amazing, fabulous, sublime. Young love, I wished that moment would never end but it did. We came to our senses and ended up leaving with the dates that we had came with but I will never forget that night...it was a once in a lifetime event.

yeah i went. it sucked. fire alarm went off due to all the smoke from the smoke machines, so we had to wait outside and were eatin alive by giant bugs (up north in thunder bay).
after party was awesome until i fell off a deck some 15 feet and broke my wrist. i continued to drink after that though.

Actually, it was a real nice story.
Weiser I'm like that too! Once I have a good buzz going, I figure medical care can wait until the next day!

We did not have a prom. We did have a celebration of some sorts. A way too small bar, and way too many people. Drinking age is 16 over here, so no need to hide the consumption of alcohol.
I did not have to spend much at all, as everybody was trying to get me drunk. Merika must have an interesting theory on that ;-)
And without the limousines, and yes, you guessed it: a bike ride of 10 miles at night, after drinking about 15 glasses of beer (with alcohol :P). Cycling under these circumstances, around 3 AM is a great thing to do.
