Do you use an answering machine or screen your calls in any way?

I unplugged my stupid answering machine because all it does is records hang ups, wrong numbers and spam, even though it's configured not to. As an added bonus, it hangs up on the important calls, w00t!

I've had 3 or 4 answering machines and they've all been crap so I'm never buying one again. I do have call display though and use it for every call.

have you tried the call answer feature with your phone company duke? it's not that expensive and it is good.

I don't screen my calls. if it's someone trying to sell me something, i immediately say i'm not interested and i hang up. if i don't feel like talking to anyone, i'll let the answering machine pick it up.

I think Telus already asks too much for the service they provide now so I'll be damned if I upgrade.

My answering machine screens all my calls, that's the reason I have one and I love it!!!

Nope because I can be extreamly rude at any given second so If it is a tellemarketer they are sorry... I'll talk to anyone else

Most of our incoming calls are for the kids. Jackson gets some on his cell phone....but most comes into the house phone. When Chloe is home...she gets alot of calls too.

Just the phone ringing annoys me. I'm not a phone person at all. I don't even bother to pick it up most of the time unless I'm expecting a call. I WAS thinking about rehooking up the answering machine though.

I screen all my calls, if it says Unavailable then I don't answer it or if it's a number I don't know. That's what the answering machine is for, if they don't use it then I figure it must not be that important.

Ours doesn't work - we never bothered to buy a new one. I hardly ever give my private number away - only to real close people, and they mostly call me on the cell phone anyway.

I sometimes think about buying one, but there's always something more important coming up: an iP-o-d, a digital camera (I just bought the Casio Exilim, I'm very very proud of it), you know... stuff

I'm not a phone person, just like Merika, and the ring annoys me, too. It usually rings when I'm in the middle or about to start something interesting, or like I'm in the midst of a really good show or movie I'm watching.
Most of my friends leave messages, or now E-mail me. And for those that don't, they have been asked plenty of times to please leave a message. With working forty hours a week my home time is precious!

If there is one thing I passionately hate, it is the phone ringing. Sadly, I am a bit dependent on it now.

Yes....the phone ringing makes me feel like someone is demanding my attention. I don't mind if it's a couple of minute call....but I used to have so many people who called and would talk FOREVER. It used to drive me insane.

My daughter calls me and tries to keep me on the phone forever just because she knows I hate the phone. That kid's hilarious
