I posted the links here so I would have quick access when purchasing the parts. I'm really glad I did it too because I ended up purchasing a new computer on Saturday and the links really helped me to not only get what I want but also to get what I need.

I ended up purchasing:

- Asus P5B deluxe motherboard with crossfire (nice to have crossfire but I'm not sure if I'll ever use it.
- 2048 Mb DDR 2 Dual Channel 667 Ram
- 2.4 GHz Core 2 Central Processing Unit w/1066 FSB
- 2 x 320 GB Seagate Barracude SATA HDD

which goes with my existing:

- ATI Radeon x1900 GT 256Mb DDR 3 PCIE VGA
- Antec 550 Watt (504 Watt Sustained) Power Supply.

This is by far the fastest computer I've ever seen.

BTW, thanks for listening to me moan about not having a rig. I have to tell you, not having a reliable PC for this amount of time was killing me. I simply can't do anything on my backup and website stuff was a nightmare as well.

No I didn't because there were some reviews I read where raid didn't work well with the most recent BIOS update and people are still hoping it will be addressed in future upgrades. With the speed I have on this system there really is no need anyway even though it apparently supports RAID 0, 1, 5 and 10.

As it is, I can play every single game I currently own with the exception of Black and White 2 at maximum resolution with everything enabled. I'm assuming this has a lot to do with 3.0 GB/sec support on all 7 internal SATA interfaces and the one external.

I'll likely run a few benchmark tests on it in the upcoming weeks to see exactly how the system is performing.
