my brother is in a band, and they had their first performance tonight at his school, and my mom went and she heard some girls talking about how cute he was then after the band was done the girls went up and asked my brother for one of his drumsticks. i can only imagine the number of girls he is gonna get once they go on the underground rock scene this summer.

my parents will not be happy, he is rebelling harder then i did and isnt afraid of my parents...he has a chance to not be messed up socially because of them being too controlling.

Maybe you should pick up playing an instrument and goof around with them for awhile. Your parents will get over it and survive. My oldest son wasn't rebellious either....then I got the next two kids........

My little sister rebelled more than I did. She went out more than I did, stayed out longer than me, had more bf. She also did fight my parents more, and my mom was a bit too old to keep fighting with her.

Still, she is paying for it now.

I think that liberty comes with a price. EVERY TIME.

You don't have to feel bad because you're not as popular or as succesful with girls as your brother is. Just be yourself, you're such a great person, just work a bit more on your self esteem and you'll do great

How about just being yourself? You're NOT competing against anyone, certaintly not against a wanna-be rock star - no offence to your brother.

I understant your wish to get laid, I really do (I think), it's a male thing, just ... stay real, be reasonable, and don't turn into a worse copy of your brother.

Do you understand his "wish to get laid?" If its a "male thing," then you cannot really understand it anymore than I can understand how inconveinient a monthly period must be.

I don't know. I don't think the solution to da's problems is to ignore who he is and pretend to be someone else. The day will come that he does hook up with a woman but the happiness you feel will likely only be temporary. Things will fall into a routine and eventually your old demons will come back to haunt you.

BTW, you simply cannot make someone else happy if your not happy with yourself.

I don't think he wants to make someone else "happy." I think He'd be estatic just to make her feel "ok," or, at the very least "not totally creeped-out."

um, i never said i have a problem with this, i am happy that he is doing these things, im not jealous or anything, i think its cool. i want his band to go big, talentwise they have a chance.

No, different guy...and I'm glad you cleared up the 'butt' part and it IS his lower back...why would a mature woman married to the same man for 39 years have to look elsewhere anyway?
