What Musical Instrument would you like to play? What kept you from taking it up in the first place? If you did take it up, why did you quit?

I'm going to learn to play the guitar when I retire so I can make my friends puke while listening to me strum my guitar while singing around the campfire....not my fault if they have a weak stomach for my talent!

Seriously though, I would also have loved to learn to play the piano and violin.

Piano. I took lessons for a while but my brother always complained that he couldn't watch tv.Then when I had to do my first recital I gave it up because I was scared.

I didn't say I knew how. I have a couple songs in my head but it takes me forever to read music. Usually I just play things by ear, only the melody and not too good at that either. I want a piano and if I had one I would learn how to play it.

I think playing by ear is just GREAT! I've never learned to read music; took Art in School instead.

I'm an idiot savant. I am totally dumb at everything else but Music. The worst instrument for me to play is the guitar. Always wanted to master it, but would rather stick with woodwind instruments. I've played just about everything, my favorite being the Flute.

I blame my Mother for making me watch all the children during PTA meetings in elementary school. For lack of entertainment for the children, back then, most teachers knew how to play the piano. I sat down to one and started playing a song that was playing on the radio and the children loved it.

The teacher walked in on us and told my Mother that she should take me to Piano lessons ASAP and it has been somewhat of a curse throughout my life. I was 6 years old and could play by ear. I thought everyone could do it, I didn't know what the big deal was.

I am 75% deaf, at least in one ear and still going. The tones seem to speak to me in other ways.

I'd rather know Math or something logical. I always want what I don't have.
