Move Attempt Failed

Sorry for the inconvenience here again guys and gals but the entire site move completely blew up in my face. I'm really too flustered at this point to go into any details but for the most part, the new webhost had me install buggy software that never had a chance to work and eductated me on that fact after I had spent more than 15 hours in the move.

Of course I had to find this out for myself the hard way and displace all of you in the process. Needless to say, I'm pretty worked up about the whole thing because I now have to start all over again, from scratch, this time installing my own software manually.

I'll keep you all informed as things progress.

Please feel free to spam up the forums as regular, there's no need to protect db integrity at this time. Thanks for all your patience, understanding and support of this site and it's completely stupid webmaster.

I am feeling a bit better now that I've spent the weekend with my daughter. I also received some great news that I'm allowed to mirror some great software used in creating game movies.

As much as the site move going sideways bothers me, what I really can't stand is displacing members or inconveniencing you fine people in any way, shape or form. It really frosts my glutes and you should see the e-mails these hosts get due to how much these situations urk me.

Duke, I don't know what you're next move is with your forums, but I host all my own sites and am starting to construct a site to offer hosting to bloggers and web-community projects. The site, www.hostingabierto.com (which means open hosting in Spanish) is not public yet (it will hopefully be up and running by the end of september) but the server side works fine and hosts all my sites individually. I would be happy to have you as the first ever web-community customer and would help you out with the whole move thing and getting some good setups going.

So you get an idea as to where I'm coming from with this project, the reason I left my previous host and started doing it all on my own was there terrible technical and customer service. I got fed up and angry ewith wasting time doing things which techinically are actually very simple but they wouldn't do.

I don't know if you're planning to stay with phpbb or swap to some other technology but the hosting plans i'm going to offer all come with the lateste cpanel and fantastico, which means a new install of phpbb or smf takes about 2 seconds, not 15 hours..

It was the use of Fantastico that actually put me in this position because they don't always have a complete working version of their own software install. I also had to edit over 60 tables of db info manually due to the major version changes between this site and phpnuke 7.7 with 2.0.14 phpBB forums.

I'll get in touch with you though because I may have another proposition for ya.

Interesting update, I told my newest Webhost that they were a bunch of tards and am now seeking yet another new webhost. Of course this affects the site move but how far off is yet to be determined.
