Congradulations TWINKLE!!
I forgot the options but would accept the one that would offer more opportunity for experience not the one that offers more money.
Easier said than done.
Or I would accept both

well done Twinkle! I knew you could do it.
Go for the one you find more interesting. You'll do better at it, particularly as it's marketing. It's easier to be creative/entusiastic if you believe in the product.

I like the tool one because I think there is a great future in that particular product....but I'm sure you'll end up chosing the one which is best for you.
CONGRATULATIONS!

Which did you choose, twinkle?
I've got an all day interview for a place on an MSc course next Thursday. I want it so much, I'm ridiculously nervous already. Let's hope your good fortune rubs off on me.
(btw thanks for the email, very cute )

Looks like I'm late on this topic, but I'd go with the cocoa one, I think it's the one you would be happiest at by the sounds of how much you've justified the job over the high pay at the hand tools job.

I had two more interviews with the guys from the chocolate industry and then a couple of phone calls with Bosch. Here's my input after long hours of thinking about it.
I'm not gonna take the job in the chocolate industry. I thought the job was at one hour and a half away from me, but it actually is at two hours and a half. Making it 5 hours a day only in transportation. Meaning that I won't be able to give English classes in the evening. Meaning even less money.
Add more than 8 hours a day at work... Plus I've had a longer interview with the marketing lady - my direct boss - and she didn't have a clear job description for me. My job at Barry (as I first knew it) would have been to help them reposition and reinforce their brands - it's a funny situation, they're the leaders on their market by far, but aren't seen as the leaders. Still, my mission wasn't very clear to the marketing director - I mean I could simply have helped creating a data base with info about the market - they don't have them centralize. Plus, they're in the business to business type of market... I've looked a bit on the market for open marketing positions - most of them are at big companies who already have a brand name. What they're focussing right now is brand awareness, and making their clients loyal to their products through different fidelisation programmes.
Bosch, on the other hand, have this programme called "Graduate - something", allowing their recent employees to go and work on different missions in different countries. Which sounds like an oportunity, given that I am gonna have a one year internship at their place. Adding the fact that I know exactly what I'd be doing, which responsabilities and the real chance of getting involved in implementing the market strategy with the consequent budget and freedom. I felt like they had a sound strategy. Plus I'd be interacting with the big supermarket chains. I looked at Kraft Foods, Unilever, Nestlé - their internship marketing position require experience in dealing with the Fast Good Consummer Product goods.
I chose the latter company because after talking to both managers, I had a better input of my assignament from the power tools people. So I guess this is what I'm gonna do. It'll give me a chance to also put some money on aside and finally, finally attend some expensive specialisation courses at a Business School, here in Paris... and my parents are gonna chip in also, so on and all, I'm happy.

I'm glad you went with them to be perfectly honest, they are a huge, multi-billion dollar, global company, talking about job security and opportunity.
Good for you twink, congradulations!

Thank you, Heather and Duke, I think I did the best thing also.
I feel a bit guilty about my choice, let's say I could have chosen Barry and tried to move. You cannot imagine the hussle that means in PAris, people are most reluctant to foreigners, plus the biggest problem here is that they don't make contracts, they don't declare their income and thus I can be in big trouble for my own papers given my status in France if I chose to live in such a place.
I mean it, nobody declares a dime when lending their house, I've tried moving once and made... 20 phonecalls? Maybe more? Not ONE person offered to do things right!
Plus, it would mean renting something all alone, which is a huge difference from the place where I live now. Not to speak about finding the right place and then moving, all given that I would be working in the mean time.

Ahhh who needs choclate anyway, if you took the Choclate job think of all the extra calories you would have to burn, plus the tool job will make you a more well rounded person. Bosch is a huge company and you should be proud that they want you, plus you can't beat more money and less time. I think you will be happy with your decision plus I think it is incredible that a woman can take over an industry such as power tools, that's awasome you make us proud
