They aren't taking advantage either. Truth is....it's the only way they've got to get where they need to go....unless they take the city bus....which they do when I'm not available.

It's called public transportation, bikes, rollerblades and walking. My parents NEVER drove me anywhere unless it was raining or snowing out. -50C in the dead of winter? You bet I was out there waiting for a damned bus.

They didn't want to waste the gas even though it was 50cents a litre and they had a tiny 4 banger car lol.

I think more compact cities would have bus routes easier to follow with less wait time. If you aren't careful here....you would end up having to route around downtown. I wouldn't want the kids there.

Jacksonville, FL is the 2nd largest city in the US as far as land mass....only 14th in population. Public Transportation just doesn't work all that well.

I drive kassandra everywhere she needs to go to and where i live, it's not that big. I don't want her taking the bus, riding her bike or walking to where she needs to go. I'm too much of a mother hen and i would worry the whole time she's gone so i drive her and pick her up instead. i feel it's safer in this day and age.

when i was a kid though, my parents didn't drive me anywhere. i took the bus, or rode my bike or even walked to where i wanted to go and back again. those day were different then they are today. sure there was always that risk of being violated but not as much as it is today i don't think.

I have no idea where any of the buses go in my area. Even the sign on the front of the bus confuses me. :?

Vancouver and surrounding area must have the worst public transit in the world.
