I had an idea for a book series- teen feedback appreciated
So I had an idea of writing a Young Adult Fiction series w/a horror tone about a model store. The basis is that figures and building models trap the owner in nightmares about the object. I figure it'll def appeal to the RPG crowd.
Anyway- as dreams naturally hold people we know- their friends would get sucked in to battle the nightmares w/them.

I say go for it. You may want to write it as a short story first to see if it works, if it does, then maybe a book is in order. I too love to write but hardly have the time or patience for it anymore. I have several book ideas at the moment but haven't done much with them, one such book is a story that ties together through loose events, Frankenstein and Einstein. It's actually more of a Forrest Gump kind of story which is hard because I prefer to write horror or struggle for life type stuff.

I love Frankenstein- I think it is more drama than horror. Are you tying the monster or the Dr to Einstein?

I'm actually spinning it all to reflect a trip that Alberts father made where he ended up bedding a young, off key, lady and got her pregnant. She ended up birthing a child at the loss of her own life. Through circumstances, the child gains knowledge that there is a possiblility that his half brother is in fact Alber Einstein. The young boys name is Frank with a last name I have yet to create along with much of his identity. Of course when he finally realizes he is likely an Einstein he changes his name and we end up with Frank Einstein.
History also plays a roll in this as the times don't exactly work if you compare the two timeframes but I think I have innocent enough ways to tie them together. Anyway, Frank is a Forrest Gump type with a good heart but not very swift and through his own experimentation becomes something viewed by others as a monster. I'm trying to wrap my head around how to pull as much emotion from the reader as possible. The goals are horror, disgust, sympathy, love, admiration and sadness.

I'm also considering writing a treatment for a prequel to "The Thing". It's my favorite movie of all time and I think I have an idea how to tie the entire story together and also give it an ending.

What fun! I loved the Gump books. If you decide to work on it let me know and I'll give you feedback if you would like.

I'd love that. I know when you write something, it's always helpful to have a few people you trust critique your work. I will gladly do the same for you.

I personally would probably not read it because i am not really into horror stories but i could tell you that probably HALF of my school would find that especialy interesting i would imagine that most people would love to read about horror and suspence...considering that i have never heard about a book like this it will probably intrigue alot of readers because it is a new idea and not everyone will be thinking that they are reading about the same old PLOT...

Dying to read your stories! I've never read anything of someone I knew - except for once. Be sure I'll give you feed back.
