This gu Iused to work with got a job driving for a company that sells small animals to pet stores.
I was able to get a chinchilla through him, any color I wanted (out of 70 that they had) for 50 bucks.
There were a couple white ones (fairly rare), but I decided to get one that was beige.
Chinchillas are really cool.
They don't smell like other rodents, they aren't terretorial, their fur is VERY soft, they live from about 12 to 15 years old and they make this "coo" sound. kind of like a mix between a cat and a squirrel.
Chinchillas hair grows 80 - 100 to one follicle, where as humans grow one hair to each follicle
I named him piangi, like the guy from phantom of the opera, to stay along the lines of naming my animals after the movie and because his fur looks like one of the costume the character wears in the movie.
