Oh, this happens to me in order for GOD to punish me!!!! Oh, I'm sooo sick of it. They're crazy, these people. I don't know in yourcountry but here the labour market is totally crazy. Personality tests, phonecalls, application forms... jeez!

And today was the cherry on the top: phone interview. I'm lousy in French a,d even lousier on the phone. I kept making mild suggestions about a face to face meeting... nothing. "I've only got a few questions about your wrok experience". Riiiiight!

I mean she didn't ask what I was doing, she felt like asking me her stupid questions and she did ! I'm sooo frustrated!!!! I do great in meeting, I'm charming and and confident. I do lousy LOUSY over the phone. It's not my mother tongue, you know?!?

So yeah, I'll keep you posted about how it goes.

I have not really ever interviewed for a job.

Usually I have just filled out an application then they call me or not and offer the job. My first job was a lifeguard. I also worked at Chucky Cheese Pizza and Schlotzkies Sandwich Shop. I was only able to work one day at Luther's BBQ. Now I work at a Holiday Inn as night auditor. I have applied for a job in the univeristy organic chemistry lab as a technician. A new Hilton Hotel is opening in time for me to get a job as a bellman. I understand they make great tips!

Phone interviews are horrid . Most people find them difficult so hopefully the language difficulties won't make too much of a difference. Come here instead and use your excellent English

Good luck twinkle, I'd keep in mind that most people prolly are in the same position as you given a phone interview. It's likely that you did fine and I hope it's proven when they contact you again.

If it makes you feel better, i'll share my GOD punishment story today. Even I began to wonder and I'm not religious. I have a weird thing that if I'm particularly stressed things go wrong with the car.

Today I was late for a meeting as it was over an hours drive away, I got stuck in traffic then lost. Then :evil: the police pulled me in on a routine vehicle check. I was really nervous as he said it was lights, tyres and exhaust and I knew I had faults on all three.

I was telling one of the guys that I had visited the garage already (true, but it was months ago and I've not got round to taking it back) when he asked me to put my indicators on. I was so flustered I FORGOT WHERE THEY WERE and put the windscreen wipers on instead 8O . How we laughed, especially when I sprayed him with water! Unfortunately, I also got the accelerator and the brake muddled up. As I'd entertained them all so much, they let me off

Phone interview yuck I have always found ladies to be harder interviewers in the 1st place but over the phone that must be uncomfortable. Maby you should follow up with a nice cover letter thanking her for the phone call.

I agree with you in that it is easier to interview for a job face to face than on a phone. I've never had to do that. If you did your best....then that is all you can do.

As far as the stupid questions they ask... I suppose it's the only thing they can think of in order to kind of find out what type of personality you have. If you aren't the person picked for THIS position...it's no idication you are .less than. It only means this wasn't the perfect position for you at this time. Don't let it stress you out.

I know . I may be a goof when it comes to operating vehicles but when it comes to talking my way out of fines, I'm a genius!

It was good practice. The next day I persuaded the rental agent to queue jump me for the house I wanted.

Now I'm considering persuading my boss to pay me double to stay at home and paint my nails

I got three interviews a great company who dumped my arse so fast I thought my head was spinning. Their marketing director is a woman devourer :evil: !

I continue to send applications and go to interviews but it takes FOREVER!!!!

How long is the standard time expected to fine a suitable position? Maybe you are expecting too much of yourself and not giving it enough time. Ofcourse, I'd be anxious too....to I understand.
