Frustrated...
So I started this new job about a week ago. I enjoy it for the most part, my boss is super cool and I don't have to be at the office all day. Works for me. I'm in sales and I do some marketing.
Anyways, the main product I deal with is for vehicles. Short version of it without going into technical garbage is that it lowers the fuel consumption there by increasing the gas mileage. It also reduces the harmful gasses in the exhaust as well as make the vehicle generally run better.
It's not a scam like the "other" products you see on TV. Lab studies have shown that it does do what it claims, it is on MY car and I have seen the results first hand. Hell, my car used to get 550-575km to the tank, it's now getting close to 700km to a tank and it has a little more "oomph" to it.
It doesn't void any warranties, it has a full 60 day money back guarantee and a 3 year warranty.
The thing is, I just can't get people to see past their skeptisim and it's getting to be really frusterating. What really gets me is that gas went up 40 cents a liter and people are fuming over it. Why wouldn't you give it a try?
We haven't had any negative feedback on it what so ever, it's all been glowing reviews but I just can't seem to convince people to try it.
I know my people skills are good, I know my presentation is good, what's the bloody problem?!?! AGGGGGGGGH *slams head on desk*

And I'm not just going door to door - I'm talking about companies with fleets of vehicles - it's not like they can't afford it.

Direct Sales rule #1: 10% of customers say yes, 90% say no.
I am a marketing major and i have done direct sales. So i understand your frustration.

Are you serious?
Well speak of the devil, not 5 minutes ago the owner of a limo company called me back and wanted to know about it. Gave him the talk and he wants on. He's getting one on the big V10 Ford Excursion limo and if he likes what he sees (I'm 100% sure he will) then he's getting 10 more.
Nice way to start a job, I guess people aren't cheap afterall. This account will pay off my maxed out visa lol.

I am serious, I would think everyone would want something to save money on gas. Do you have a website where we could find out more?

http://www.total-tooling.com/
Click on products then scroll down to the GenX2 and click.
The website is cheese - you don't need to tell me that. I'm going to get on them about it.
What do you drive and what size engine? And where do you live?
I can send you more information on it if you want. I did up a powerpoint presentation and I have alot of test results from clients I can email you if you really are interested in it.
Won't be until later tonight though as I'm heading out to the womans for some R&R.

Oh geeze....they need a better website. That one is one dimensional, boring and really didn't explain the product. If you can sell to whoever wants it....put yourself together a nice snazzy simple website and throw it on ebay for indicidual and commercial sales.
I'm not sure how government contracts work in Canada....but with a little leg work...I think you could get a great sale. Get an appointment or send a presentation to various cities/towns who have public transportation, emergency vehicle services or even school buses. Once you get your foot in the door in one area....the rest will follow. Don't be shy....hit up the military....they will buy ANYTHING.
Making a good PP will work better for you than that website they put together though. It's a no seller.
