Food Phases...
Has anyone else gone through this...I've always ate all kinds of foods and meats. Lately I have taken meat completely out of my diet. For awhile I was eating chicken but now I haven't been eating that. I do get protein from cheese and beans. I didn't make any conscious decision to do this it just seemed to happen. Just curious if anyone else has gone through these types of phases.

I go thru times when I really like this or that.....and eat it a lot. But then I get tired of it and find something else.
Sounds oddly like my date life..... :?

I have gone completely vegetarian and didn't really like it. Most vegetarians I know are always hungry. What works best for me is a low meat diet with lots of fruit and vegetables. I do like tofurky sausages, it's just sad that they have to kill the cute little tofurkies to make em.

You know I was just dumb enough to look up what a 'tofurky' was!

what is a tofurkies??? never heard of that before in my life.
I like all different kinds of foods but i do go through phases where i'll eat more of something then switch to something else later. I'm a big meat eater. I could never go vegetarian. Vegetables is a side dish on my plate beside the meat and potatoes.

Tofurky is a meat substitute made from tofu, among other things, hence the name "tofu"rky. The factory is right across the street from where I work and I had talked to this girl that worked there many times and one day, I just asked her..."what the heck is tofurky anyways?" She said, "come over and I'll give you some samples". So I went over and she gave me a big box of stuff. They make meatless "hamburger" patties, sausage (I really like the sausage, very spicy and not greasy), fake turkey like for sandwiches, alot of it is really good.

I've tasted some of the meatless meat, my parents are big fans of that, and it's ok, but it's like drinking non-alcoholic beer or coffee without caffien in it.

It IS an acquired taste but like I say there's a lot of variation among the different products-even within the same brand-I think there's a quality control problem..

I'm like that about Liverwurst. I only like some of the name brands. I sure like it though.

I couldn't be a vegetarian either. To me, the meat is the best part of the meal. The other is just fillers on the plate.

Meat is more filling-if you have something very strenuous you have to accomplish it wouldnt be a good time to start a vegetarian diet-but if you can discpline yourself to eat a preset amount and give the food some to digest you'll feel full after a while-that's the strange thing about vegetarian meals-you don't feel full until after you've digested some of the food...
