I just noticed something.... I haven't seen one red or orange colored leaf yet. Every single tree still has all of their green leaves! I don't know if this is normal for this time in the Toronto area but it is pretty damn awesome in my opinion! It's 26 out right now (almost 80F) which isn't too shabby for it being mid october and in Canada lol. Go Global Warming!
I think it takes longer in Toronto because the temperature is kept up by all the smog in the area. Leaves have been turning in Vancouver for the past 2 weeks.

It happened almost over-night here in southern Michigan, one day all green, within a week there's a ton of colorful leaves. Last night we had some wind and rain blow in and now the ground is covered in leaves. Yay!! time to rake the crap up... =P

It's getting colder and colder here in the Lower Mainland. I hope we have another winter like last year only a bit more extreme (to the cold side). I'd love to see us white all winter long.

The leaves are just beautiful here! All oranges, reds, browns, yellows; mag-nif-icent!! Nothing as peaceful as taking a walk and watching leaves waft slowly to the ground!

waft, isn't that what a fart does? I don't think I've ever seen a leaf waft.
Through most parts of the world, leaves fall to the ground but in Nelson they apparently waft. I wish they'd waft themselves to a pile so they don't have to be unwafted into huge piles with my unwaftifier.

According to "The Merriam-Webster Dictionary"
1.Waft - to cause to move or go lightly by or as if by the impulse of wind or waves
2.Waft - a slight breeze: PUFF; the act of waving

Yes those are the meanings but I thought the reference was to odors, smoke or other types of fumes, not animate and inanimate objects.
...wait a tic, I just saw a bird waft past my window.
THERE you go!

i just read this and felt like pointing out....we DONT have Fall in britain
we have the season "autumn" but because of the large amount of rain we get from about late september onwards our trees dont really go into the gorgeous colours of fall but instead go brown and mushy on the floor.
