The End of the World
Do you think we'll ever totally destroy our planet and likely ourselves?
If so, how?

I was raised to believe that the end of the world would come when Christian's and people of christ we're hated and mocked. When countires fought over there god's religion ect, when permiscuity, unwed sex ect would whipe out the human race ( aids, std's ect.) That has always been pounded into my head so a small part of me still believes in it.
If you have ever seen the stand by Stephen King that is what I think how the world will end, at the begining when everyone is whiped out by some super flu, I don't kow when but I sure hope it is not in my life time or my childrens.

I did see the Stand and read the book as well, very great. I actually believe the end may be something very similar.

I think the the end of the world will be caused by nuclear war. I think that will wipe out all living things someday. I just hope that my kids nor I are alive to witness it. I hate thinking about the end of the world. scares the heck out of me.

I believe whatever God says as being true......not to be confused with man's interpretation of it. Through time, the Christians and Catholics have done more damage to God's character than Satan himself. We've, often times, not walked in love or grace....but have chosen the path of hatred and judgement. To make it worse, we screw up by totally disregarding His guidance and then blame Him for the bad result.
From the beginning of time, there was a 'time line'.....and we DO seem to be knocking at the tail end of it. It's not hard to follow since God gave plenty of information as to what can be expected and how the sequence of events will go. It's actually amazing to watch it come into fruition.....EXACTLY as He said it would happen.
I don't worry so much about what all will take place....I worry more how my heart looks and how I will feel when we meet face to face. I'm not afraid of God....I'm only embarassed because I truly love Him.
This is only what I believe.

Re: The End of the World
I do believe there will be an end to our world as we know it. How that will happen remains to be seen.
Humans adapt- even if we knock down all the trees, dry up every river, kill every animal- the population of humans may reduce but I think they will go on until some other life form takes over at the top of the food chain.
As Stat mentioned- I think nuclear war remains a dangerous prospect. Of course Earth could also be hit by a comment- the sun could go out- earthquakes could split our core in two.
Who knows? As a Christian though- I do believe there will be a time of reckoning involved with the end of the World. How we react to the final time here will effect our afterlives. Of course that is true every day.

Re: The End of the World
Instead of spreading kindness, the people are getting meaner to each other. If this keeps up, we'll all be destroyed.

Re: The End of the World
My POV:
The era of humans on earth will end at some point, most likely due to a natural or cosmic disaster. Hopefully, we will have colonies in space by then, if not, we'll just be replaced by a different dominant species in whatever ecosystem develops out of the carnage.
From time to time, God/the Universe likes to have a clean slate.

Actually, I don't think your typo is too far from the truth. It's hurtful comments that spark all kinds of problems.

Re: The End of the World
I think the world is going to end when all of our fuel sources dry out. People go mad over petrol strikes or anything we are so dependant on. They buy everything they can from supermarkets get all the fuel out the pump for themselves etc, and don't think other people will need it. We are just going to kill each other in a mad panic and i think its just going to be every man for himself.
I don't think mothernature will kill the planet. I don't think we will kill the planet. I think we will end up killing ourselves.
