Default Digital Cameras

I picked up a 4 megapixel Kodak DX6440 with an EasyShare Dock awhile back, this thing is great! I'll have to post some pictures for you guys of some of the pictures I've taken with it.

What I was wondering is, do any of you have a digital camera? What kind? What do you like about it/hate about it and how does it compare to your film camera?

This one is great, the shots are really clear and detailed. What I hate about digital cameras though is if you move even a little bit, it blurs everything if only slightly. I bought a nice little tripod for mine so I can get some nice steady shots, makes a huge difference. The EasyShare Dock is great because I just set the camera on it and it transfers all the pictures to my computer, saves a lot of hassle. I never had a film camera, except a couple disposable ones I've bought over the years, but this one is way better.

I'm always years behind progress, Paul, so I still have my film camera; don't see a change in that in the near future!

I have a nikon 995 w/ wide angle lense and fisheye lense and my mom has a nikon 5400 that she let's me keep until she wants to use it.

The thing I love most about digital cameras is that I can take hundreds of pictures and not have to pay money for pictures that didn't turn out.
Also, it alows me to play with different settings and see how it effects a certain shot right away.

If I had the money, I'd like to get a ncie film camera and setup my own dark room, but that'd cost too much and it's easier to just bring a CF card to a photo place and have prints made of just the pictures I want.

One of my friends just bought one of the new nikons where you have to look through the viewfinder and you can adjust the zoom and stuff on the lense just like a normal film camera. It's REALLY nice.

I simply can't afford a digital camera right now and won't get one for another few years I'm guessing.

Kassandra bought herself (I paid 100.00 of it, she paid the rest) a digital camera. The Kodak easy share CX7220. it's only a 2.0 pixel whihc I didn't want her to get. you should at least get a 3.2 pixel if you're going to buy a digital camera but oh well. it came with the camera dock so it was a great deal!

It takes pretty good pictures. not too bad considering it's only a 2.0. I'm surprised. I use it all the time. I do want to get myself a better camera hopefully by christmas.

I prefer the digital over the film loading ones. Put the pics in your computer, burn it on a CD and less money spent. You can even order prints online so that's a bonus.

I have a cheaper one that I used to use for a web cam....never took too many pics with it. Chloe got a 2.1 MegaPixel before she went to the UK. She FORGOT the USB chord in the back seat....but she said she still took plenty of pictures.

Digital camera's are the way to go. Then you can upload all your pics to photobucket (or where ever) and you are set.

I don't think you really need a camera with more than 2.0 MP unless you're going to be using the pictures for big prints (like 8x10) or making collages that have a high resolution.
But that's just my opinion.

One of the best ways to learn is to a :

How to ___________ (fill in blank) on a Google search and then read around in computer tech forums until someone gives an explanation I can understand and follow. Sometimes it's all about trial and error.

With a 5 megapixel camera you can crop out a majority of the frame and be left with a non-pixelated image. I only resort to that when it appears I was having a slow moment when taking the picture.

Anyway, the only digicam that I personally own is a really old Olympus 2020z, which I exclusively use for infrared pictures. I have access to a Sony f707 and some small canon thing. I think 5 and 3 megapixels respectively.

That's why I said:
