The Cost of a Family
How much do you spend (approx) a week at the grocery store for all your household items? (Including food, paper goods, pet food or as in Star's case....diapers.)

well, we spend a LOT more then most.
diapers, formula and wipes - 50.00 right there. extra if i need baby soap and shampoo.
groceries, we spend about 200.00 or more a week. We eat good here. We like our meat and potatoes.
so really, you're talking anywhere between 250.00 to 300.00 a week. good thing hubby makes good money! 8O

I would imagine you eat out a lot. If you had the facility to cook for yourself...it would probably be quite a bit cheaper. Plus, you don't have to purchase a whole bunch of laudry detergent and cleaning supplies.
I can do it on $100....IF the kids are in school....but that's cutting it close. During the summer...it's much higher. Ofcourse, they are teens and eat a lot. I can buy cheap junk food....but the better snacks cost a fortune!
SH....does that include feeding Greg or just you and Noah?

That's Greg to BUT Noah eats lunch and breakfast at school, I am the WENDYS Queen so everyday at work I hit the $1 menue for my lunch. Greg eats at work so all I really need to buy is dinners and drinks Noah is the Macaroni king and that only runs 95 cents a box plus I cant cook worth a damm so between Hamburger Helper, spegetti, and chicken bake that only runs 25 bucks the rest is left for TP, drinks and small snacks.
Toddlers are cheap to feed I buy the same thing every week, Mac n cheese, Hotdogs, Ham& Cheese, Eggs, and freezer pops...plus you get 50 for 1 dollor.

The directions for cooking most anything is ON THE BOX! LOL! You can pick up a microwave for $35 these days and most meals/snacks can be cooked in it. It sure would be worth it financially...not to mention less annoying than having to go out all the time.

we used to go out to eat so much that we're sick of it now. All i had to tell hubby is that i didn't feel like cooking and we'd hit the restaurant.
now we do the take out night on paydays. we didn't do it last night cause hubby worked late so we're going to go out and eat tonight before we do groceries otherwise we'll buy everything in the store! Hubby's really bad for that. if i sent him to do the shopping by himself, he'd spend 400.00 on food. :?

SH....we did the $1 menu thing at Wendy's so many times....everyone in my house never wants to see another Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger AGAIN! For $3 a piece....we could get one of those, a chili and fries and then go home to eat it. For $9...it was a great deal..the first million times we did it! HAHA!
The chinese place has a great take out for $5 a big box full....and $2 for a pile of Won Ton soup. That's another great favorite of ours. We get two boxes stuffed with food and the soup for $12.
