Everyone around here is sick with a cold. I think it's from it being a rainy season and lots of storms. It's all hot and humid outside...but the buidlings end up too cold because the AC is still running in sun shine mode. I've wore a sweater to work for the past 2 weeks.
Both kids are home...I feel like crap but am going to work anyway since I know a couple of other people are going to be out who were sick at work yesterday.
How often do you get a cold and what do you take for it?
sorry I didn't get to all the threads. I lost morning time due to having to pick the kids up at school
hubby and erika both hve a really bad cold. erika's poor little nose is all red from having to wipe it all the time.
i don't get colds too often. maybe once a year. twice if i'm unlucky. never get the flu either and i don't ever get that flu shot. i've got a really good ammune system i guess.

I take Echinacea(sp?) at the first sign of a sniffle or scratchy throat!..
I have some of that....but I thought it was only for indigestion. That stuff is fantastic! I think I'll take one for my cold today and see if it makes me feel better. The kids went back to school..but didn't feel all that good. I feel like total crap but don't have any paid sick days yet....so I'm going to work anyway.
I believe that Echinacea should be taken at the First sign of either a sniffle or a scratchy throat. I take one pill a day all winter and then again just when I feel something coming on. It is not advised to be taken all the time because the effects of it lessen if you do!! But I swear by it!
I've read somewhere also that it does nothing...but I don't believe that...it works for me!

I've heard it boosts the immune system. I've not tried it. I take large doses of vitamin C (1000mg twice a day) at the first sign of cold and get lots of rest, that seems to work well.
I hope you feel better soon, Merika. Don't push yourself too hard
