Chordless Phones
Anyone have a chordless phone that is reliable and holds a charge?
My home phone is the biggest POS ever and I'm sick of it carrying a charge for 15 - 20 minutes. Now I know that most of you will think this is "battery memory" but it's been that way since day one.
I simply have no luck at all with answering machines or phones, I always end up with junk. If anyone can suggest a good model, please let me know.
Thanks.

The trick is NEW BATTERIES. I have a chordless which isn't worth a crap unless I replace the $10.00 batteries every 3 months. It just won't hold a charge unless I do so.
I also keep a plug in around ....just in case of storms and loss of utilities.

It's not really the batteries in this case. I've never really liked the phone in the first place and would rather get a good phone than spend a penny on a battery for this POS.

With cell phones being so popular....you can acutally get a good chordless phone for home for alot less money than they used to be. Any reason why you don't just use a cell phone?

i jsut throw theold cordless phone away when it starts to do that and buy a new one. i spent 20.00 (refurbished) on the cordless phone that i have now and it works fine.
when you got the phone, did you let it charge for a full 24 hours before using it for the first time? if not, you might of fried your battery and might need a new one.
I would think it's the battery and not the phone itself.

Yes I followed the instructions to the tee star, no problems there other than the fact that its a POS.
I prefer not to get a cel phone and I'm quite proud of myself that I haven't gotten one so far. Most of my friends have them, there never on, their impossible to get a hold of, and its extra baggage to carry around. I don't like answering my home phone so a cel phone just makes no sense to have.

I have a GE 900MHz. It's been a good one. However, every 3 months, I know just to go buy a new battery pack (about $9) than to keep recharging.

I just don't like phones period. Everytime I sit down....it rings...usually for one of the kids. I get very few personal phone calls.
