Chat Module Installed (testing)

I've installed an IRC Chat Module for you all to try. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to remember that you are logged in or retain any content should you leave the page. It may serve well on the 22nd though so long as you keep the chat window open and surf the site in another, seperate window.

Ya I noticed you were there.

I'm leaving a window open to see who comes and goes for a while.

I'm also looking into other chat software atm but this one seems pretty good so far.

this is pretty good, a lot of the others cost money.

I've found a few for free and one really good one thats about 500 USD, I think that's a bit pricey tho.

yeah i doubt the 500 is that much better. Maybe if you had hundreds of people at a time.

Trust me, the 500 USD version is simply awesome. It can be added to virtually any CMS, is fully functional and infinately configurable. I'd love to get it one day but only if I can configure it across several sites instead of just individual sites.

i used to chat online all the time when i first got the internet. used to chat in yahoo chat and irc. it's fun when you have several people in there at one time. it's like a get together. can hardly wait until there's someone in there when i go in. it should be fun!!

Are you referring to the preferences? If so, then I believe they apply to this chat room and all the others listed in the chat room window.

The whole idea of having a chat program is so members can discuss things in real time. It's also a great vehicle for keeping people onsite instead of using a seperate, third-party application.

The best feature of this chat module (and the worst IMO) is that you cannot close the chat window or all conversations are lost as you are immediately logged out. The only way around this is to have two seperate windows open, one with the main Lifesupporters site for posting, the other with the chat client open.

I must admit that I really like the idea of having chat software here. I think it's adds an extra dynamic to the site that will help bring our members closer.
