I think I want to be cremated.
I don't like the idea of bugs eating at me while I lay in the ground in a box.

Star my parents actually live next to a churchyard / graveyard (difficult to translate, as the concept seems not known in England, and possible also true for the US / Canada; but I may have wrong information about it). Have lived there for my entire life, so I know a thing or two ...
I prefer cremation myself.

Given the nature of my condition when I am buried or cremated I do not think I will care.

I don't care either way...whatever I live behind has nothing to do with the part of me which continues to live.

Absolutely Merika, amen to that!! But I'll take cremation anyway. The last thing the world needs is another corpse stuck in a hole in the ground that no one will visit or remember in 100 years anyway.

Are you certain that your grave would not be emptied after 10, 20, or 30 years?
That is actually one of the problems in the Netherlands, as there is too little space to bury all these people. So they pay enormous amounts of money for the right to be buried, but if no one will pay for the upkeep of the grave, the grave will eventually be emptied.

That's an awesome policy! We should definetly consider something like that here in Canada if they haven't already, I think the current system is ridiculous.

I don't know, in big urban areas it makes sense to charge people to bury their kin but we have so much unused land everywhere else that it doesn't make sense anywhere other than in big cities.

they'll soon find a way to recycle our bodies because they're running out of room to bury us. Just like the landfills.

They already do recycle parts of our bodies if you're an organ donor.
