Star, I don't know either how people could join cults, does anyone remember the story of Jim Jones and all those suicides in Ghana, I believe. Feel free to enlighten me if I'm wrong...

I think i remember that story with the suicides. it was cianide(SP?) in kool aid or something wasn't it?

Yes, Star, now that you mention it, I think it was in the Kool Aid. I wonder if there is anything on the Internet about it? I guess I'll try and find out! That was such a tragedy...

Jim Jones. There looks to be lots of articles about the event....but this was the first link. I can't imagine why people would blindly follow a supposed religious leader...rather than making their own decisions....but I guess it's their right to do so.
