This is going around the email circuit....but for those of you who haven't seen it...I thought it was real interesting:

The next time you hear a politician use the words "billion"
casually, think about whether you want that politician
spending your tax dollars.

A billion is a difficult number to comprehend, but one
advertising agency did a good job of putting that figure into
perspective:

A billion seconds ago, it was 1959.

A billion minutes ago, Jesus was alive.

A billion hours ago, our ancestors were living in the Stone Age.

I try not to listen to politicians as I'm already full of sh1t3 and don't need a new source to absorb extra sh1t3 from.

Wait a minute!

If a billion seconds are rougly 45 years, then 60 times 45 is roughly 2700 years. So Jesus cannot have been alive at the time, it was a billion minutes ago, unless there has been a mistake in calculating things.

But a billion seconds equal roughly 32 years that would change things. So the 1959 statement is clearly wrong. Is thould be 1973 or so.
And according to my calculations, we would be in the year 104 AD a billion minutes ago.
