Big City Life
If you could live one year in any city in the world....where would it be?
(Let's assume you won this ....so a job and finances wouldn't be a criteria. This is based on somewhere you would really like to live.)

One of my favourite characters by Agatha Christie is Miss Marple and I loved that she lived in St. Mary Mead. I don't know if it's a real place or fictional, but I would love to live there!

I wanna live in Revelstoke but that will likely never happen because I don't think I could ever live more than 30 minutes away from Dwoing.

Actually, LA is a great place to live. You can go to the beach, the mountains, have wonderful scenery and plenty of stuff to do all the time. I lived there for a year when I was in 7th grade....my dad was doing some work for a company there. The later, in my early 20's I lived there for about 6 months.
I'd probably chose to live in Las Vegas. Now THERE'S a really cool city too!
I would also like to live in Russia or Jerusalem.

Oh why did I forget Vegas?
Hollywood or Vegas. Both would get me into big trouble though, so I'll just stick with visiting.
Oh I had so much fun in both places.

Vegas is the fastest growing city in America. They actually have about 5,000 new residents a month. Isn't that unreal?
Beyond all the casino's and stuff...there's alot to do there and GOBS of job opportunities. If I had the money....I'd move there in a minute. Why don't you get a working visa and check it out?

it's a pain in the butt, i'm saving for school, cost of living is high, it'd be a bad place for me to live although I would like to.
Once I am done school I will look into it all.

Johannesburg to be with my girlfriend. I like the landscape and the "calm" of much of South Africa (outside the big cities).
San Diego perhaps. Amsterdam.

That was actually one of the cities which was on my list. I've always wanted to go there. I think it's one of the few, if not only, cities I would want to travel to in Africa though.

Merika, beware. The murder rate in Johannesburg is (one of) the highest in the world. If you thought safety is an issue in the US, in SA it is even moreso the case. But it is also the financial heart of South Africa - plenty of opportunity.
Climate is almost perfect there as well:
1. dry winters
2. warm winters (15 degrees during the day) - although isolation and heating in houses is rare, so it can get a bit cold at night
3. warm summers
4. no hurricanes
I can imagine living there

I was thinking the crime rate there was bad....but I didn't want to be rude and say it. I knew they've had alot of political unrest in the past also.
I just love the way they talk. A 'bonnet' for a car hood is just too cute.
Is your girlfriend living there now...rather than Atlanta?

Hezekiah....was there a particular area of interest or were you just reading for fun?

Yes, now she lives in Johannesburg. There are about a dozen official languages there. English & Afrikaans are the Germanic languages and the languages of the people who were indigenous there.
