Beaches, St. Catherines, Ontario
Are there any good places to swim in St. Catherines Star? I was thinking of taking my gf to a beach somewhere but I don't know any good places except the beautiful beach way up north in Port Credit. I don't figure Hamilton is a good place to go so if you know of any in your area I'd love to know!

to get to port dalhousie paul from hamilton, you take the QE and get off on Ontario street exit. turn left on ONtario street. Keep going until (I don't remember the name of the street darnit!) you see a Benjamin Moore paint store (it's be on the corner on the right) - across the street from that store there's a plaza (can't miss it) and you can see a bar across the street on the left hand side. the street is right before the bend on ontario street. turn left on that street. keep going until you reach a 4 way stop. here you can turn left and try and find parking or park on the street around that 4 way stop. the beach is left down the hill of that 4 way stop. you know you're in the right place when you see the carousel (5 cents to ride it!! ). I'll try and find out what the name of tht street is. I think it's lakeport road but i'm not sure. There are a few nive bars there too along the strip. port mansion is really nice or it used to be when i used to go there. OH! and there's a marina on the other side of the beach so if you see lots of boats, you know that you're in the right place.
I hope that you get there okay and have fun!!

awesome thank you so much Star! We're going tomorrow and would be staying the night, can you recommend any good hotels in the area? If not it's ok, I'll do some looking around.

There's a couple of motels on Ontario street as you get off the highway.

Turns out I don't get my money until next friday, which is fine. We'll probably plan for next weekend.
My gf went job hunting today and it took about 5 mins. She went in to the grocery store across the road, did an interview right then and there and was hired on the spot! This is good for both of us in that she'll have cash, keep her busy, she'll be working days (doesn't want to be outside in the city at night), it's across the street, it's in a grocery store (so hopefully we can get a discount on some food! Oh and the selfish reason, I'll have more time to do stuff that I enjoy (website design, gaming) I think this is going to work out really well! :P

Paul, next weekend if you happen to get lost, just stop anywhere and ask how to get to Lakeside Park. that's what that beach is called. Rush wrote a song about it. they used to live here.
congrats on your girlfriend getting the job!! That's great for the both of you!!
