Default Anyone Like To Paint?

http://architecture.about.com/gi/dyn...e%5Fselect.asp
(I need to learn how to do the quick link thing)

For those of you who like painting, both interior and exterior, the above is a very good link. Make a choice on the left box....then you can try out a variety of colors for the same room or house.

I realize not EVERYONE thinks painting is the coolest thing in the world. I'm ODD that way!

I like oil painting also. I started out doing more canvas work....they went to painting directly on walls. I did MUCH more of all this before I spent so much time on the puter though. I'm not sure that's a good thing....hmmm.....thread idea!!!

I thought this thread was about oil painting as well...I don't like to start interior painting at all though I loved to paint our carport once I started...it's soothing work, somehow..BTW...I should be oil painting right now instead of sitting here...but I'm having such a good time..

I've always wanted to paint a mural of a lazy, laid-back olden days town on my kitchen wall...one that had a small Church in the center...I think it would be such a peaceful thing to look at while eating meals...(sigh)

when I read painting my mind automatically thought woo hoo finger painting lol Then I read on ...........I could never just paint something free hand I'm not a very good artist but if it was outlined for me I could do it. The only problem with that is I'm a perfectionist so it would take me awhile. I have stenciled my kitchen walls that was alot of work but the end result is worth it.

Finger painting? Sure that it was not body painting? And with that you don't need lines either

Stenciling is hard work because of all the layers and all the stubbling of that damnable round brush! You are right in that it does turn out looking real nice if you take your time and do it right. I find painting directly on the walls is much easier. I used to have a Hawaiian theme in the house and I just put floor to ceiling palm trees and flowers everywhere. It looked like a big tiki bar! Now it's in early Spanish....Floridian style. I still haven't finished painting all the door frames so they look like brick.

You will paint better if you DON'T outline. Good painting is not like drawing with the same kind of detail. It's more suggestive in nature.
