LOVE that Maxine!!

Maxine on "Driver Safety" "I can't use the cell phone in the car. I have to keep my hands free for making gestures.".......

Maxine on "Lawn Care" "The key to a nice-looking lawn is a good mower.. I recommend one who is muscular and shirtless."

Maxine on "The Perfect Man" "All I'm looking for is a guy who'll do what I want, when I want, for as long as I want, and then go away. Or wait nearby, like a Dust Buster, charged up and ready when needed."

Maxine on "Technology Revolution" "My idea of rebooting is kicking somebody in the butt twice."

Maxine on "Aging" "Take every birthday with a grain of salt. This works much better if the salt accompanies a Margarita."

Re: LOVE that Maxine!!

This is pretty sad to admit but I don't even know who Maxine is?

Since I'm the only male responding to this, I wonder if I'm not alone?

Re: LOVE that Maxine!!

Is there any chance that someone can actually enlighten us as to who Maxine even is or maybe just give me a last name so I can google it?

Re: LOVE that Maxine!!

As far as I know, she's just known as Maxine the feisty old lady cartoon.

Re: LOVE that Maxine!!

Meet Maxine:

"Maxine, that crabby character from Hallmark, came to life in 1986 when she appeared on several Shoebox cards the year the alternative card line was launched," reveals the greetings and gifts company."John Wagner, Hallmark artist since 1970, says Maxine was inspired by his mother, his maiden aunts and his grandmother, the woman who bought him art lessons ... 'If Maxine can get a laugh out of someone who feels lonely or someone who is getting older and hates the thought of another birthday, or if she can make someone chuckle about stressful interpersonal relationships, then I'm happy. Putting a smile on someone's face is what it's all about.'"
Maxine at Hallmark:

The cranky lady offers wit and snarkiness with free greeting cards to be sent via email for numerous occasions. Gift items with Maxine's presence are available, too.
And don't miss Maxine's daily Crabby Road comic strip on view at Hallmark's Maxine.com. Today's tongue lashing and past swift boots to the pants are sitting quietly in the corner of a generous Crabby Road cartoon archive.

Great find, LovingSpirit; I didn't have much luck with what I found so I gave up.

Re: LOVE that Maxine!!

Oh ok, I'm very glad I asked. I thought maybe she was one of these crotchedy ladies from CNN or something who judge absolutely everyone?

As it turns out, one of the ladies I thought you were referring to is the lady who hosts Nancy Grace, gah I hate that woman.

Re: LOVE that Maxine!!

I know I'm taking away from the topic somewhat; I like Nancy Grace when I've seen her on "Dr. Phil" and admire the way she speaks about abuse and such.

I believe Nancy Grace has her own show but we don't get it on our basic cable.

---------------

Maxine is SO popular that I get something in email that she says almost everyday.

'OLD' IS WHEN...
Going bra-less pulls all the wrinkles out of your face.

'OLD' IS WHEN....
You don't care where your spouse goes, just as long as you don't have to go along.

'OLD' IS WHEN...
You are cautioned to slow down by the doctor instead of by the police .
