Worrying about the dating choices of a teen

As everyone knows, I have a 16 year old daughter who informed me this morning on the phone that she was dating a 19 year old black guy. I was LIVID....we screamed at each other and she just hung up on me.

If she were in college and met a nice young black man who shared her interests and was a productive human being, then I would have no problems with it. BUT for a 16 year old girl to think this 19 year old black guy thinks she's so special he isn't in it just for the sex....she's wrong. Just like in Star's case, he'll have no qualms of knocking her up and walking out on her. I've seen it happen time and time again.

And truthfully, few white guys want to adopt or raise a half black child later. Doesn't matter if thats right, wrong, or whatever....it's JUST THE WAY IT IS! Black families aren't so partial to mixed babies either. The only person who will love and want to raise that child will be ME!

I get so tired of these boys, he's probably a sailor, walking around with their d*cks in their hands preying on young white girls. Then they get a girl pregnant and haul a$$ for sea duty.

Again, adults making the decision to interacially marry or have children is their own choice. But for teens....I think it's a stupid sloppy mistake.

I trust your opinions on here....so inform me if I'm wrong.

I'll agree that a 19 year old and a 16 year old together is rather strange and I would probably freak too (legal age here is 19), but why don't you invite him over for dinner one night. Cook something up and get to know him before you judge him. Your daughter seems like she is extremely intelligent and could probably tell the difference if this guy was sincere or just a thug looking for some.

My cousin Drew (well, might as well be my cousin) is 17, maybe 18 now. She has been dating Chris for almost 3 years. Chris is 22 or 23. It can be done, and even if it seems wrong, they might actually have a connection.

Anyways, if you don't know him yet, try and get to know him before you pass any judgement. If he turns out to be a thug just lookin for some, break his legs. If not, you better drill it into her head that she has to make sure he wraps it up.

Judge the guy by what he does. Not by what you think you know (i.e. assume). You may be right, but also completely wrong.

I agree with you Vautrin on the first part. Get to know the guy before you judge him, he may very well be exactly what you think, but he also may be a sincere nice guy, at least give him a chance.

As for the second part of your post, it was that last thing on your mind...what planet are you from? At 19 I had (and still have "girl fever") bad. And by the way, Merika warn her about the white boys too, we're not that innocent and think seriously about purchasing that chastity belt you've been considering.

I'm sorry weiser but you're wrong. the legal age here for a girl aged 14 and up is any age. she can be with, have sex with any man of any age when she's 14. sick isn't it?

Merika, I KNOW exactly how you're feeling. Your daughter's boyfriend is much younger then the one who knocked krystal up. he was 22!! is he a jamaican guy?

The reason i ask is this. these guys come into our country and to them, it's a trophy to have a white girl and to get her pregnant. they feel good about that, makes them feel important or something. that's the most of them here anyhow. it's unbelievable how many white girls are with jamaican guys pushing a buggy around here. It's become the norm. 8O

My niece is with a black guy and has been with him for several years now. in fact, they're planning on marrying soon (he bought the ring last i heard) but you know, he's a responsible nice guy that treats her well and gives her a very good life. He's respectable. Krystal's idiot was far from that. I don't care what color skin my daughter's boyfriends/husbands/ have as long as they treat them well and with respect. it's the losers that give them all a bad rap. White guys can be just as bad. like the one krystal's with now. he's worse then the other one IMO.

What do you know about this guy so far? does he work? is he responsible? I think the first step is to meet him and see what kind of person he is. I hope to God your daughter doesn't come home pregnant merika. you'll be living my life if she does!

our generation of kids are so stupid sometimes aren't they? they really don't think of the later impact their actions can leave on their (and their children) lives.

I don't want to get to know him. I don't want her dating a black guy period....not at her age. I have black adult friends and they ALL feel the same way when it comes to their kids. This is the south and we just aren't that progressive.

He isn't listening to opera with her, he's one of those with that retarded a$$ed filthy hip-hop music wearing a pair of pants down below his butt leaving him to have to walk like a stupid penguin.

If he's in the Navy, I'll call his commanding officer. If he's not, I'll beat the crap out of him myself. He isn't going to ruin my daughter's life. I'm nauseated just thinking about it.

OMG!! he's a thug!! that's how the one who got krystal pregnant (at 15 i might add) was dressed and looked.

I confronted the idiot back then and all it did was push her closer to him. the more i said or did anything to try and get her away from him, the more she and he would defy me and voila! we now have erika that neither one of them are raising!!!

You can forbid him from coming to your place. I did that with the first and am doing that with the idiot she's with now. you don't have to let anyone into your home that you don't want to. maybe then, she'll think about it even more and look elsewhere.

EXACTLY! Black girls are more wiser....they know how to weed out the sorry ones because they grew up with them. So these guys go trolling for silly under-aged white girls instead with their bag of pot and inability to speak the English language correctly.

I just called one of her girlfriends who is also black and she doesn't know who he is. She is 17 and refuses to date LOSERS. She guesses he is probably a sailor too.

she'll start talking all kinds of stupid ways now that she's with him. krytal did. one of krystal's favorites was "hey yo!" OMG I would flip everytime she would talk like that! she'd wear her hair in braids and everything. a wanna be black white girl. it made me sick.

she is too young, if he went to her school or something then that would be different. But yeah i think he is just taking advantage of her age and everything, i dont think it has much to do with him being black, a white guy can do the same thing. I think you should at least try and meet him and see what he is like, cause if you dont, she might just rebel and do it behind your back.

If he is 19 and she is only 16 and you know for a fact that he is sleeping with her you could have him charged with statutory rape. He is considered an adult in the US and she is a minor. If he is a sailor he could be in even more trouble but I can't believe a sailor would dress like that. I wouldn't think it would be allowed. Anyway, good luck with this situation. I have a daughter and worry about her all the time and when she started dating a guy 5 years older I was worried. I talked to her all the time about not giving in to him if he pressured her. I hope for the best for you. Let me know.

star, i meant legal drinking age is 19...what a 19 yr old would be with a 16 yr old is beyond me.
