What Musical Instrument do/did you play?
I'm going to learn to play the guitar when I retire and I don't mean maybe...
I would have loved to learn to play the violin or piano...I am mesmerized by people who can play these well....

I can't play any instrument well. My timing sucks. But luckily my auditory memory is pretty good; so it only a matter of concentration and the song is there.
My gf is a genius, musically speaking though.

Easy: playing a guitar would be so much of an improvement, as you don't drive your friends and relatives insane with: ...
(and now fill in the options)
1. Singing ....

I KNEW you would be able to find the right words to make this right...I just KNEW it! Thanks, Vautrin. I am going to EASE in with the singing...I'll break them in slowly with humming...and then throw in a few words....and see how they take that!

I took piano lessons in grade school but when I had to do my first recital I quit. Too chicken to perform in front of others. The song was Ode to Joy. To make this a family thing, my kids both play multiple instruments. My daughter plays the clarinet, the violin and the bass guitar. My son plays the trumpet, an acustic guitar and an electric guitar. He also has a coronet which is similar to a trumpet. It is a family affair. I would love to get a piano and start playing again, just for fun.

I tried guitar for a little bit and I actually have two (plus my sisters which she never uses).
I'm not very musical, so I got a drum set and bang on those...

Ode to Joy, tkdlady? A conversion of Beethoven's version of the poem by Schiller?
I would love being able to play something. I can't .

Yes, Ode to Joy. I used to be able to remember the beginning but can't remember it anymore. I know I would recognize it if I heard it however. It was a pretty piece of music and although I certainly couldn't play like Beethoven I enjoyed playing it. Just didn't want to play it in front of a bunch of other people.

As often, interpretation plays a role too. You'd be surprised to hear how horrific / beautiful the rendition of the same piece is, if the tempo is slightly altered.
