My parents emailed me tonight saying that my sister misses me a lot. It makes me want to move back near home after i graduate, but i think that it would be harder for me to start my own life that way.

that's very noble of you to think about doing but if it will be too hard for you to start your own life moving back, then why move back?

You are going to be starting your life, you shouldn't base it on your siblings. No matter where you live in this world, your family will always be your family.

I moved 9 hours away from my family when i was 16. my little brother missed me big time but i couldn't base my future on my baby brother missing me. where would i be today if i had done that? He got over it and looked forward to the times when he did see me and got used to me living so far away.

You have to do what makes you happy in life. Your family should and probably want that for you as well.

That's so sweet DA. At least you care and it's on your mind. I agree with SH.....keep in contact with her....maybe send her a few extra emails (if she's on the puter very much) or just send her a nice card or note from time to time.

Both of my kids are real attached to their older brother. If he takes them to a football game or some event....it makes their whole day. They look forward to his visits every other week.

Send her a note or postcard every couple of weeks....it will make her real happy and not feel like you are so far away. The best part is when she becomes a teen and has someone she trusts to talk to. You can play a big role in helping to guide her down the right path.

when i left home, my baby brother was only a baby. I used to send him toys and everytime i came home for visits, i would take him out shopping or to the park. He's 23 now and it's so hard to believe that he's actually a man. I still think of him as a baby. I always look forward to seeing him. He's the one i stayed with (and kassandra) for a month after hubby and i quit our jobs until we found a place to live. I almost feel as if he's my first born child.
