My parents
I do love my parents and I have a great relationship with them. They have been there for me all my life.It all started when I was born,in the Berlin area in Germany on the west side when Germany was called East and West Germany. My parents wanted a better life, they wanted a better life for me too and we moved to the US when I was 4 years old.I am their only child and they did get to know me through the years. My parents thought I would be be into dolls and girly things.they were wrong,I was into holding a tool in my hand and they found out when I was 14 years old.I would help out my father working on his car and saw one thingI would not let go of that tool.My parents are very supportive of me what I do now,I am a mechanic at a sevice station and love it.My parents were there for me when I went through the hardest time in my life, when I was badly raped by my neighbor when I was 15.There is onething that they are proud of me of,found a guy that treats me right that I am going to marry July 7th and it is my fiance Aaron. They do like him and are very supportive of us getting married.I do love my parents for what the did for me,raising me.They are very proud of me,I show my German heritage a lot and I do have a German flag waving out beside the USA flag.

What city do you live in? My car's making a funny noise...just kidding, my brother always fixes my car for me. Sounds like you have wonderful parents and a great fiance, never take either for granted, they are a special gift from God.

There is nothing like supportive parents when one is growing up...that makes such a HUGE difference in how a person lives the rest of their life, IMHO!

I'm sure that there's many things that make you're parents proud of you.
There's so much to respond to within your post, but the point is, that regardless of difficult circumstances, your parents have helped and loved you. This is Our Job. Our biggest worry is that we haven't done either enough. Its really great when our children reassure us that we are loved and appreciated and have done a Good Job.
Make sure they know.

I couldn't agree more. My oldest will be 20 in a couple weeks and she has been in college and pretty much on her own for almost a year. She really appreciates us. My son will be 18 in about a month and he still needs an reality check but he will be in college in a few months and hopefully reality will set in and not knock him out. It is so nice to hear "I love you, mom" from them.

My parent shave taught me things in life including this:do not ever give up.I live by that to this day. They did talk to me about drinking and driving 2 days before I turned 21 and and I did take their advice. My parents told me if I had too much to drink, call them to pick up me up or stay at my friends house.I did that two weeks after I turned 21,I had way too much to drink and I stayed at my friend Ally's house for the night after I called them confiming this.I handed my keys to her mom and had someplace to sleep for the night.I do tell them I do love them, even in German.I still do to talk to my parents for advice and they give me advice. My father did want a son,he got a daughter that he loves a lot and he learned that he does not always get he wants.

I am SO grateful that my Sons and Granddaughters end all phone calls with "I love you". I always tell them I love them except for the one time I was in a deep conversation with my youngest son and forgot to say "I love you" before I hung up....I immediately called him back to tell him just that!

It makes me feel so mushy to admit having done this too.
In some ways, we never really should grow up.
