Default My Brother

I love my brother, he's such a cool kid. We weren't close growing up, he was annoying and got away with everything because he was sneaky, while I was always in trouble. Now that we're older and live together, I wouldn't rather live with any person in the world. He's my best friend, I give him a hug when I see him and let him know that I love him. When it comes down to it, family is all we have and I'd be devestated if I lost him.

Tonight we hung out, joked around and made plans for the future. When he got tired and wanted to talk, he came into my room and laid down on my bed to chat while I'm sitting at the computer. He just fell asleep mid-conversation (lol) and I'm going to leave him there because I know he's exhausted from working all day and I want him to get a good rest.

It feels great to be a big brother.

He woke up and stumbled out to the kitchen where I was making some food and said "why the hell am I sleeping in your room?"

It's so easy to push someone away and be selfish, but to actually maintain a healthy relationship with a sibling, now that's a challenge. You'll never experience more inane struggles then with a sibling but if you can learn to laugh it off or turn it into a positive experience, you'll have a best friend. I can't even think of the last time we fought, we still have disagreements, but it's over so quick and we don't let it affect or get between us. It's all about accepting and respecting the other persons point of view and sharing yours in the most gentle kind of way. In my relationship with him, I really do get what I give, so I give a lot of love and it's really made our friendship a good experience.
