Default Mothers-in-law or SO Mothers...

Just curious how you all get along with your parter's Mother. I didn't see this posted anywhere, but of course, I'm "still" trying to read as much as I can on this Website...so forgive me if this topic has been covered already and I'm reopening the case...

I didn't meet my Mother-in-law until 23 years into the marriage, as my husband had run away from home when he was sixteen due to heavy restrictions in his upbringing. Won't go into that at this point because it would get off topic.

I have only had one heavy run-in with my Mother-in-law when she decided to tell me how to run my "long" marriage and I wasn't very compassionate about that situation at all! I used very straight-forward, to-the-point "don't you ever butt into my marriage again" and didn't speak to her until she apologized, and we have made up and are on the right track again.

How are the rest of you doing?

I get along with my mother in law pretty good. there were a couple of incidences that we clashed and she did or said things that were not appropriate in the 16 years that I've been with gerry but since let it all go. i get along pretty good with her.

Gerry gets along well with my mother as well. he gets along well with both of them actually.

we don't have mother in law problems. we have brother in law problems in our families.

Not married. No mother in law ... yet.

But from what I know about the mother of the woman I am interested in, it is hard to imagine that her mother and I would get along.

I AM the mother-in-law and my daughter-in-law acts like she just hates me. The harder I try...the snottier she gets. Now I know why she doesn't get along with her parents. It's ANNOYING too...because I now have a grandchild involved.

My ex-mother-in-law laughs like an ostrich that has it's head buried in the ground.

I wonder though: Did she, or did not she eat dirt?

I love all my mother-in-laws and they love me. I was very fortunate in that department.

How many mother-in-laws do you actually have? It almost sounds like you have a harem.

I only have one mother-in-law. I was referring to my girlfriends moms, they always liked me for some reason...maybe I should have dated them?

I've always gotten along with my girlfriends mothers as well, I wonder why. Actually, their dads always treated m e well (for the most part).

I only had one dad that I didn't get along with, he was very wealthy and his little girl was too good for the likes of me. Better she be miserable married to a rich guy.

Kicking a dead horse here, but anyways...

This is about my nana (dad's mom) and my mother. My nana recently moved into our home and revealed her true colors. I no longer have any love for her and my mom is about a hair away from having a nervous breakdown or killing the old bag. Yes, you are probably thinking, show some respect for your elders...What ever, if Satan had an english accent, he learned it from her.

Story goes like this my friends...The kids (sister and I) move out of the house. One to Toronto and one to Arizona (me). No reason to stay in the old city, as there is nothing left for my parents except my nana. Alright, she can move in with m
