Meeting your Future In-Laws...

When dating and getting seriously involved, when would you meet THE PARENTS? Are you comfortable in your own skin to be okay if they didn't like you? Would you try to postpone it for as long as possible...or would you try to get it over with quickly?

At this stage in my life, if there were parents to still meet, I am comfortable enough in my own skin and in the love my partner felt for me to not care what his parents thought.

I was very nervous meeting my future father-in-law who, at the time, I believed him to be a Saint because that was how he was presented to me.

Odd you bring this up, GG and I are debating whether or not I should meet her parents, her parents are unsupportive of us and want her to hook up with a local boy and have kids. Her mother is supportive as long as her dad isn't around, once dad's around I don't exist. Dad -hates- me!

Is it fair for me to meet her mom but not her dad? I don't know; this is a hard subject. I'm comfortable meeting them both, I'm a young man; It's not the first time I've dealt with fathers that think their daughter is a perfect virgin angel etc. etc. and who think I'm some ass out to corrupt her and use her etc. etc.

GG's met my mom by the way, went well; First thing my mom said was 'Now I know why you've given up sex but once every few months'
