Are you OK, twinkle? Hope it's nothing more than tiredness getting you down.

I've been busy doing prep for my assesment for uni and then celebrating getting in Can't quite believe it.

Merika's daughter arives on Monday, she's staying with me for a month. I'm going to take her and the girls to London, I've been planning what we will do there.

My dad is taking us away somewhere hot for a week, not sure where yet.

Kids are fine. I've not been online, are you on holiday or away with your new job?

Hi, everyone

I'm more than fine, I'm doin' great! The first week of internship is over and this time I got to sleep a bit and even go out. Lots of information and a speedy rythm of work are getting to me. I know I sound like a student, but I'm not used to getting up early in the morning and then working ten hours a day.

Friday, one of the other trainees had a barbecue at his uncle's place, and I had a chance to know some of the people there a bit better. I got home really late, add the long hoursof work and the heat - it's boiling down here - I was beat!

I intend to sleep all day today and maybe g for a jog in the evening. I can hardly wait for my first pay check - I've decided I'm taking diving classes no matter what. I don't have a holiday as an intern, but I can have a day per month free if I work a certain number of extra hours - which is no problem, really. Meaning that I'm not gonna go anywhere this year - other than three or four days somewhere -I'm thinking Austria, with the girls.

My parents are coming here in September so I can't wait to see them - it'll soon be a 7 months.

Star
- I'm sure you and Kassie will find something interesting to do over the summer. There are so many lakes around your place, I'm sure you'll make the best of it.

DA
- I've always wanted to see New Orleans, it's not too far from Saint Luis, is it? I've heard it's really hot around those parts, take good care of yourself!

Duke - like I said, I'm tryin' to get used to being a proud member of the working class, LOL. I so miss the late afternoons when I was chatting with you people !

Meanon CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! I know that when I finished my last year of study I was feeling a bit overwhelemed, the best sensation so far! Like I was achieving something - and the truth is, I was, as are you!

Please do tell us how Chloe sees the UK, the cultural differences are so fun and enriching! Something tells me she'll fall inlove with London , she seems the type of person interested in culture and Europe/ especially England/ has a very rich cultural heritage.

Do tell us where you're going over the week, the only place I'll be going these days is to bed very early !

Love,

Twinkle

P.s. I've decided to move out of where I live and get a place of my own, my room mates are driving me crazy! So starting next week, I'll be appartment hunting! Yaaaaay!!!!!!!

Thanks twinkle . I'm glad the internship is working out for you. Where is it, in the South? We've had a heat wave too but now we're back to the usual sunshine and showers that is the English summer.

I'm thinking of taking Chloe on the London Eye, to Parliament and the South Bank, St Pauls Cathedral and if we have time, the Britsh Museum (she loves Egyptology).

My internship is in Paris and we're having a suffocating time. Right now there are storms but in less than half an hour afte the rain, we're back to suffocating heat again. I'd die if I had no air conditioning at work!

Your trip to London sounds like a blast. My policy when it comes to visiting a new town is not to run from a site to another one in the shortest of times possible, but rather to walk and just feel the atmosphere of it, the way people have fun , etc. London is so much more than a bunch of cathedrals, I really do hope I get to see it properly one day!

It's about 700 miles from St. Louis, but they are on the same river. I'm pretty sure that the person to as about New orleans is Tzummer.

It's been the same here. 32C one day last weekend. I'm not complaining, I love the heat.

I agree. Theres loads I'd love to show chloe but we'd need a week and I'm at work. All the stuff I've chosen is very close, except the museum which is on the tube route back to the station.

On my first trip to Paris I was with a group that tried to cram everything in. I left them to it and spent longer in the street markets and cafe bars near our hotel. It was in the area immediately south of the Eiffel Tower. That's still my favourite bit of Paris, I'm sure it's because it's the only bit I know well.

That place is the richest of Paris, my friends say is where counts and dukes live (). There are LOTS of lovely incredible places to walk on in Paris - my favourite is between Chatelet and the Senne, near the Conciergerie. .

IT's not as crowded as the Latin Quartier and much less mercantile compared to Saint Michel, near Notre Damme. Actually, walking along the river is one of the best advice I can ever give you, from the Eiffel tower down near Notre Damme

There are, indeed, some lovely churches with stained glass and wild arabesques, but more important that seeng them all is to just be in the right mood as to enjoy them.

I think she must see the museum - it's a "must", especially given her keen interest on Egyptology.

I remember that walk, I did it on my honeymoon.

Yes, the British Museum is a must. You know I just remembered I meant to find out if there were any digs on locally. She's interested in archaelogy too and at this time of year they have lots of excavations which they run with volunteer students.

HAHA...nothing like a memory with the ex! In foresight...you should've thrown him IN the river and kept walking!

Twinks....since Chloe is going to be in the UK during our 4th of July Independence from the UK day celebration....I tried to buy her a great T-shirt stating such....but she wouldn't let me. LOL! I thought it would be funny...but I have a warped sense of humor!
