How Do Forums Make You Feel?
Those that belong to a two or more forums, how do they make you feel when you log in? Do you visit some more than others? Have you made more friends than non/friends (I don't like the word 'enemy')? What do you look for in a forum? Do you make your mind up about a forum in the first few visits and never visit there again? Do you post more on one forum than another? What do you look for in a forum? Are you shy at posting right away and introducing yourself?

Re: How Do Forums Make You Feel?
This is really the only forum I belong to. Don't want to go anywhere else.

Re: How Do Forums Make You Feel?
Couple of things I've learned about forums
1. No One Forum Satisfies Me. Forums have different tones, and moods: So do I.
2. I'm very selective about other posters' writing styles. For example, if a poster ALWAYS writes about his unhappy love life, I'll stop reading ALL their posts. I also prefer posters that are brief............
ok, I'll stop now.

Re: How Do Forums Make You Feel?
I am an active member of 6 forums. I am a no longer active member of at least 6 or 7 other forums.
I am a member of 2 Australian trading card sites (moderator of one), but the fact that one of them was created out of spite following the split of an old admin from the first one - I just don't have the passion for either forum, like I once did for the original forum. I still go because I have made friends at both.
I am a member of two Australian Rules Football forums, and I don't like many of the posters, as most of them are arrogant, biased pigs (that includes the supporters of my team). I stay because I am addicted to football and people's opinions on the game. Sometimes someone comes along with something intelligent to say, that makes it worthwhile.
I am a member of Pepsi's gaming community forum (my Dad introduced me to it) and that's how pepsi and I met. I am glad that I had the opportunity to meet her.
And now I am here, thank's to Pepsi.
I check all forum's religiously every time I get on my computer, after playing games, getting home from work etcetera.
I crave the conversation with intelligent, thoughtful and NICE people, which I feel I have found here

And I am very glad to have had you join not only hwg but LS now too - you've probably noticed your not the only person i brought over here, but Fb lurks too.
Will have to try get him to post again soon, but i got him addicted to AOE3 and now GTA4 (boo!)
it made me laugh reading that you crave intelligent and thoughtful conversation considering how it always goes on hwg, it is defiantly a different kind of family thats here and a very special one
and in regards to the first question, i visit 2 forums actively, my own HWG and this one. I occasionally visit another gaming community forum called TTP to check up on a few friends and play the odd bit of online poker with.
I love HWG and i love LS, and visiting both forums normally leave me feeling happy and generally with a smile on my face.

Re: How Do Forums Make You Feel?
Generally I like forums for the people and the subject matter. I've usually joined a forum because of a game I play (usually something related to IL2 or other flight sims, games, xbox) or something I'm interested in like politics. I joined this one cause of d00key but people are nice here so I stayed and visit when I can.

I'm glad you stayed and visit when you can! Of course, since I'm such a Nag (ask anyone) how about posting more if you can. Feel free to stop nagging (though it hasn't helped Duke asking me all these years)

Re: How Do Forums Make You Feel?
There's about 6 forums that I check every day, but I don't post on m every day. Sometimes I lack the time, sometimes I'm just not in the right mood. I don't like spamming replies, my reply either needs to have some content, or sometimes contains an effort to make someone laugh. If I don't feel I have anyhting new/substantial to contribute to a thread, then I don't reply. Sometimes I don't reply because I feel my opinion might get people offended, esp concerning religious and political topics (since I'm atheïst and pretty much left wing).
I look for forums that interest me, that online buddies of mine visit (or own), and I also like visiting forums of games that I (try to have time to) play. This is the only 'serious' forum I regularly visit. I'm usually not shy to introduce myself. If I can get something out of a forum, AND if I'm able to contribute to a forum myself are usually the 2 things that determine if the forum will end up in my favorites. I've also got like 20 more forums in a backup folder in my favorites, but those I usually only visit when I need to, for example to get technical assistance with my computer / games, for finding historical info for the rare times I have time to spend on map/level making (for games) and other purposes.

Re: How Do Forums Make You Feel?
I have belonged to several forums throughout the years....I think each one had something different I needed at that time in my life, depending on what I was going through.
Now, I only belong to a couple, and don't post much at either.
