Default How big/small is your family?

We have a big family.

On hubby's side I have:

5 brother in laws
5 sister in laws
11 nieces and nephews
a set of parents in laws

On my side I have:

3 brothers
2 sister in laws
6 nieces and nephews
a set of parents

My little family consists of my husband, 2 girls and 1 grand-child.

that's a total of 40 people! WOW! That doesn't include all my aunts, uncles and cousins. I have a total of only 14 there. Will be 15 early next year.

I have a Mom and Dad....a brother and his wife......and older son and his wife.....ALL who were going elsewhere for Christmas. That left me....Snoopy and Isis for this particular Christmas. Not too bad....we had a GREAT Christmas....celebrating a day early because we can.

I think big families are wonderful DA. When I was growing up we had lots of aunts, uncles and cousins. Thru the years though....most of us have just gotten out of contact. I wish we hadn't.

My DAd ditched his faimly in Detroit. He has 15 brothers and sisters who I barley know and he has another daughter ( my sister) that I spoke to on the phone a couple times, Sucks when you have a big faimly and don't know them but my dad always said it was for a good reason

WOW! that sounds a lot like hubby's story. he's got a ton of family that he's never known because his mom divorced his biological father when they were very young and he hasn't seen or had any contact with any of that family since. His bio dad died a couple years ago which I found really sad because i was hoping that hubby could at least meet him someday. I asked him if he'd ever want to find any of his other family and he said no. How about you? would you want to know why and meet them someday?

My Dad's father was a dog and he married several times witch explains why he had so many children. My father always hated him for it and he says there all trash and we're better off without them.

As far as my sister, I have talked to her on the phone a few times she calls my dad on christmas, b-days ect. but I have never meet her they still have alot of problems to work out so I don't think it will be anytime soon.

That would be strange....to have a sister you never met. I think out of morbid curiosity I would arrange a meeting. What if she is wonderful and you two would be best friends and very close? I'd hate to miss all that.

I have to say that I would feel the same. I don't have a sister; all I have are brothers so the thought of a sister would really thrill me. The curiosity would get the best of me also since I'm a very curious person. Hubby also might have siblings he knows nothing about, who knows? He's not as curious as I am.

I would have to meet just to see how 'familiar' we are to each other. Maybe you wear your hair the same, or love the same colors or feelings about things. It would be brilliant to find out.

I have two sisters (both married), one brother (married), five nieces and nephews, my mom and stepdad, my son Jason, my husband and my stepson John. We were all together yesterday at my sister's house -- well, except John.

My husband has two brothers (both married), four nieces and nephews and his mom and dad.

My sister doesn't really like my brother and I she doesn't understand why we got to grow up with my father and she didn't my father didn't see her untill she was 18 ( now she is 28) she was raised by her mother we don't have the same morals, she isn't very nice. she does have 2 daughters who I am intrested in meeting but we'll see I don't lose any sleep over it, and I am sure Noah will deal with the same thing one day, his father isn't around because I won't let him around ( long story another thread) I am sure he will have other kids and Noah will meet them on day but I doubt they will be close.
