I keep meaning to turn into someone who can do things slowly..... maybe next year. We had a 4 day epic. I'm sure I get more outrageous in my Birthday celebrations as I get older. By the time I'm 80 I'll have a Birthday Month

Day 1: Day before birthday: trip to a theme park with the girls. The oldest is cautious but managed to get her on a fast roller coaster. The youngest is fearless. They wrote a wish list in the car on the way there. Oldest no 1: Visit the gift shop; Youngest no 1: To be scared .

Cheers! Day 2 did have two celebrations, first with friends then with my sister and her boyfriend. There were also three public renditions of Happy Birthday which I found hideously embarassing but the girls loved.

Twinkles the kids were really funny. I hadn't had time to ask someone to take them shopping so I gave them their pocket money and stood outside the shop. They bought me five minature ornaments that said "Mummy" or Mum" on them and two HUGE identical Happy Birthday Mum cards of a woman with cucumber on her eyes lying in a bath with bubbles and a glass of red wine! .

Day 3/4 my sister and her boyfriend were still here so we went out lots - painting ceramics with kids, crazy golf, film, park, picnics (more champers). Last night evereyone left and I had a night out on the town dancing with my friend.

I need a week off now to recover :?
