Default Favorite Relative

Do you have a favorite relative somewhere in your family tree who you think is wonderful?

Most of my faimly lives in Michigan so I don't see them much but my Uncle Don comes down every couple months to visit, and every time I have a Crisis he is there... he's wonderful and full of mistery.

He ran the Teamsters Detroit unit for 17 years I still swear that he was connected to the mob somehow.

I lost my favorite uncle (my dad's brother) in the world 2 years ago from a heart attack. He was only 52 yrs old. That was the saddest funeral i ever had to attend. He was such a good man. always happy, good sence of humor. i never seen my uncle angry, ever. he was a mounted police all of his life then got promoted to seargent and retired around the age of 45 - 50. He was awesome!

I have a favorite aunt (my dad's sister). She is so good hearted and caring. she's always been my fav from day one and always will be. She's got a really good ear. my dad says i'm just like her. i think that's his favorite sister too.

It's my mom.

My other relatives: my father family:

-grandma: prefered my aunt to my dad, tried to ruin my dad's marriag out of spite
-grandpa: he was a great man, teacher, but he was paralised and spent his last 15 years in bed. Died hen I was 9.
-aunt: let's say she very much enjoyed living well. Lots of bfs, finally convinced someone to marry her, had 3 kids which she never attended. Broke my grandma's heart. Eventually she died very very poor (had cancer) in her 40's.

Mom's family:

-my grandma was very rich, her family didn't allow her to have an education. She was practically forced into marriage with my grand dad. Then the communism came and took all her heritage away. She ended up in a very unhappy marriage
-grandfather: very determined, history teacher, pestered my grandma, managed to make some money, yet was really cheap to my mom. My mom studied Medicine and she got almost no financial help from him. My mom finished third the university.
-aunt: married because she got pregnant. My uncle is a macho who raised my 2 cousins by the hand and wanted to spank us too at family gatherings.

Let's say we didn't quite keep in touch.

That leaves my mom, who's the greatest.
