Do/did you have a favourite Aunt/Uncle...
as a kid that you really loved/admired and they just wouldn't give you the time of day? I don't know why I thought of this question today...
I absolutely adored my Dad's brother, Bill! He was such a big, quiet man and I always wished he would like me...and it seemed he didn't think I existed. I did, however, love my Dad's sister, Florence, and when they used to visit she always treated me nice as a kid. So, I guess, one out of two isn't bad!

No real favorite uncle or aunt. Then again, my best friend for about 18 years lived 50 meters down the street, and is my cousin.

Re:
I had a favorite aunt and a favorite uncle. My favorite uncle passed away not too long ago. that was a very sad funeral. he died unexpectedly so it was a shock to everyone. he was everyone's favorite uncle. My favorite aunt I keep in touch with by e-mail. I LOVE staying with her whenever we go down to visit. as a kid, i'd only want to stay with her or my gramma (dad's mom). my dad's side of the family are all great really. i do love them all. my mother was an only child so no aunts or uncles on that side. just grandparents and they were really nice too. They were my god-parents.

Yeah I got a couple favorite uncles. They both live down in Arizona. They got their problems like everyone else does, but they are my favorites.

My dad's brother was my favorite uncle. He was a dentist and of course we all went to him as kids. He always made me feel special. My dad's sister was a pretty good Aunt as well. I spent some time with her occassionally. Her and my her husband owned a bar in an Indian area of South Dakota and we would go there once in awhile to visit. My uncle always had some different kind of candy for me and sasperilla (I know I miss spelled that) to drink. I liked going into the bar. It was fun. Not too much going on and I got to pick a huge pickle from the jar on the counter. A one horse town and a small bar. Fun for a kid.

LOVE your story, tkdlady, and I LOVE one-horse towns. My husband and I hope to retire in a very quiet little town still a few years from now...can't be soon enough for me as I feel I could move right now...

Lots of those towns are still around. My gf feels that even Memphis is not too different from a one-horse town.
I am not too fond of one horse towns either. Although here it is not too bad, as you don't have to confiscate the only horse and ride it for a couple of horse to see a two-horse town. .

Re:
Uncle Peter is by far my favorite relative. He has my utmost of respect and there have been many times that I've looked to him as a role model, even though I'm sure he's completely unaware of it.

Re:
BTW, I was just thinking that if Pete got married to Kate Moss and took on her last name, his name would be Pete Moss
