Default business vs. family

today i talked to this guy i know, he may be able to offer a multi million dollar contract to my dad's business, on the other hand im not supposed to be doing any work for the business, so im not sure if talking about it was right.

you just talked to the guy. what's so wrong with bringing business to your dad's business? Why can't you work for your dad's company? I don't understand.

Even though you are supposed nothing, you are a relative to someone who works in the company. It is good that you know something about the company

I think sometimes the decider in matters like these are connections with persons who have a connection with this or that enterprise.
Mentioning things would not entail harm in most cases, unless of course you'd be describing the difficulties this or that would bring, making the prospect less likely to succeed at your dad's company.

i do know about my Dad's business, he is just really secretative abuot who he tells, really paranoid. So, im not sure if i am supposed to be trying to get him business, even though i probably could. I guess i have to ask him.
