Default Birth Order

If you had the choice in what order you would fit into the family, what would your choice be and why? Would you also liked to have been an only child, if so, why?

Sometimes I wish my parents had stopped after getting me. Both my parents are youngest kids themselves. So they were extremely over-protective with me, and my youngest brother is almost allowed to do whatever he wants.

I was the youngest and I felt invisible, left to my own so much with no guidance. I know my parents loved me but they had too much pain with each other in their marriage to really bother with me unless I was sick, which I was a LOT of the time. Now I think I used that sickness as an excuse just to get some loving attention. I think I was a mistake, I was never meant to happen for them

Awwww . It may sound very strange, but perhaps you did get sick, just because you needed the attention. And perhaps the invisibility was a good thing as well - it must be awful to be the center of all the battles between father and mother.

My mom was actually born when noone expected her mom to have another child. The pram was already delivered to the junk yard, and the same held for quite a bit of baby stuff. It all had to be bought again.

I was born the day after the 2-year anniversary of my parent's marriage. The day before my dad took my mom to a fancy restaurant. Needless to say, that my mom ended up throwing all the food up, in labour. I was due a few days later.

I am the baby and I like that spot but sometimes I wish I could have been more near the top. My siblings talk about all the things they did growing up and I missed most of it because by the time I came my dad was sick and the things they did didn't happen anymore.
