being jealous

I was talking to my friend today online and i realized im jealous of her, for the fact that she seems to know what she is doing when she graduates(she is graduating the same time as me) I think its the fact that she is going off to have fun and im just going to go to work, and i want time off to do things like travel and i cant afford it, and she is just gonna do it, i feel like i have obligations to take care of and i cant have fun anymore.

Actually, DA, you can have fun anywhere, work is no different, if you have a good attitude about it!! You can make a lot of friends at work, and believe me, it can be very enjoyable!

yeah i have always enjoyed working, but its still different. I mean everything is gonna be different for me, new city, new friends, new job, that i dont even have yet, im stressed out like crazy, i want to just put it all off and do something else before i start my career, like my friend is, but then ill fall behind with making money, i am obessed over money and earning it, i rushed through college to go off and work, yet now that im here, i dont want to grow up basically, not ready to settle down. I mean i basically see my life as me going to work and thats it for the next 45 years, if im lucky ill meet somebody. I feel more like my life is over, then its starting.

That is sad, DA...but just remember, once you get a job, this feeling Will pass and you will enjoy yourself once again...take it a day at a time, yesterday's gone, tomorrow isn't here yet...why not enjoy the moment? Lots of exciting, wonderful, laugh-filled, some down times, sure in the next 45 years...enjoy the ride..learn from the hard times and just do better in the future...that's all we can do..

yeah, once im in my new life i will be fine, its just not gonna be good until then.

It will be kind of a transition period for you, time to evaluate what you want out of life...it could be fun while your looking for your job...just try not to be hard on yourself...with the right attitude and enough go-power, you Will get there...

the looking for the job part isnt gonna be fun, im gonna be at home, and my parents are gonna pressure me to do stuff.

What kind of pressure...for what...if you don't mind my asking?

to get a job, or start a life, or something, my parents put a lot of pressue on me to suceed.

I think jealousy can be a good trait if it spawns healthy competition Make that a reason to live YOUR life to the fullest and make HER jealous of your fab adult life paying your own bills, making your own way, completing your own challenges

she is never jealous of anybody it seems, she is genuinly happy for others when they do well.


tonight i saw the girl i like at the store, sh was with a guy, normally id be jealous and assume he was her bf, and not go after her, but until she says she isnt available im not gonna get jealous of other guys, especially if she interupts a convresation with them, to talk to me.

and just b/c somebody doesn't SEEM jealous doesn't mean they never are I think jealousy is a natural instinct at some point for everyone

yeah, it was a funny conversation cause i bought ice cream for dinner, and she was like how can you stay so thin and eat like that. I am trying to have a new outlook on life and have more fun an not care what people think.

Ok, my friend will never admit to being jealous.
