Default Being a homemaker

I have been off work for 2 weeks and I am going friggin nuts I want to go back, I'll work for free anything I can't take this staying at home stuff.

There is so much stuff I COULD be doing but I don't get around to it. I am really slacking in the cleaning department, the cooking department, and even the GETTING DRESSED DEPARTMENT!! Most of my days are spent online, in bed or on the phone. I am about to take a job at McDonalds so I can get out of my house! I've spent more money staying home buying baby stuff, take out, extra grocries, and things to fiddle with then I ever made.. staying home is expensive... well it is for me anyway. So I am in desprate need of advice.

For the homemakers on this site. How do you do it?

Do you have a schedule or routine?
Do you take a nap?
Do you procrastinate? If not how do you get motivated
Should everything be spottless all the time?
Should I make breakfast and Dinner?

This is a hard job and I don't like it!! God bless the people who can do it. Greg has asked me every day this week "what did you do today" and I just look up at him like a confused 2 year old.

Getting off the puter and actually DOING something is hard to do. I've actually waited until 30 mins before Chloe came home to run around doing things quick and getting dressed so she wouldn't know I was on the puter all day!

I get bored at home too. It woudn't be boring if I had tons of money to do other things with.....but it never seems to work out that way. I DID sign up for a free online Bible course....since I wanted to at least do SOMETHING constructive with my time.

Since the settlement is taking so long....I may even go back to work some during the summer. I have a couple of loans I need to pay off and the kids would enjoy the summer more if we have a decent cash flow.

You are pregnant though...and have a great excuse to lounge around. Just enjoy it while you can. Once the baby comes....you'll be busier.

Maby that's the thing I am not enjoying it, I thought I would but I feel guilty for not being a wonderful homemaker.

Staying home will be better once the baby is born. you'll have no choice but to get things done because the baby will keep you very busy!

I've been a stay at home mom ever since krystal was born except for a couple years in there.

I do somewhat have a schedule routine. I get up anywhere between 6 to 7 am. I do all my cleaning right after I feed Erika in the morning. By 10 or 11, I'm done.

I sometimes take a nap in the afternoon with erika. I lay down on the couch and we fall asleep together there. sometimes I don't do the nap thing though. That's when I'll watch a movie, sit out in the yard or go on the puter.

I procrastinate all the time! It's the big things like painting, cleaning up the basement, gardening, things like that. The things that will take me a longer time to do i put off now that i have erika. there's just not enough time in between taking care of her to do all that stuff right now. I do plan on painting when school's out. kassandra will be home so she can look after erika while i paint.

I don't think that everything should be spotless all the time. You live there! I have my house presentable just in case somebody comes over unexpected. there are days where i don't get dressed and don't do housework. those are the days when people do pop by and i hate it! LOL

I make breakfast, lunch and dinner. I do all the cooking and i like it that way. if gerry or kassandra cooks, the mess is more so i'd rather do that myself.

Stone, when the baby is born, you won't be so bored. I was bored to death before i had erika here. didn't know what to do with myself. now i'm far from being bored!

Do I have a schedule? Each day is run like a military operation...
Do I take a nap? I wish, sometimes I sneak one in on the weekend.
Do I procrastinate? I make it a point to only do what can't be put off till tomorrow.
Should everything be spotless all the time? You're joking on this one right?
Should I make breakfast and Dinner? I make dinner every night but breakfast is usually cereal except sometimes on the weekend I do make breakfast.
I also work a full time job and then some.

I wish I could be a homemaker, instead I'll have to settle for homely.

Star...I hate unexpected company also. It makes you feel like you have to be 'on the ready' all the time...rather than just relaxing in your own home.
