Any hints on getting along with poeple who hate you?
My b/f and I are going to Orlando for new Years Eve so we can try to spend some quality time togeather and either fix our relationship or end it.. We are going to Epcot and staying at a hotel. His best friends live in Orlando and we will have to go visit them and there new baby.
I posted on Yack, that last time I was there I feel and got lipstick on there friggin wall and it was REALLY embarassing. They don't like me even though they have never said that I can feel it. SO I am not looking foward to going to there house for a BBQ but I understand that he wants to see his friends.
So what do you do when your at someones house and they don't like you? Try to make small talk, ignore it? I just don't know. I've tried EVERYTHING to win these people over and it won't work. I've sent them flowers for letting us stay there in the hurricanes, i've bought stuff for there new baby and they don't even say thank you. they thank Greg instead knowing he didn't do send it.

Maybe it's more bad manners than dislike. Some peeps just really are bad hosts and don't know how to make guests comfortable.

If it were me, I wouldn't go visit them at all. I would let hubby go and I'd do something else. I never go anywhere I don't feel welcome or wanted. But, that's me.
If you must go, then I suggest killing them with kindness. don't let them know that you know they don't like you and make them feel like crap for the way they treat you by being extra nice to them.
Good luck!

Interesting concept: Escape reality to deal with it?
Anyway SH, I've been in very similar situation. I'd try to minimize the time spent at their home. And drink a lot. Of their liquor.
Unhappily, in your delicate condition, drinking would be just stupider. So you're gonna have to come down with what we call in the south "the vapors."
The flight, and all the excitement of visiting Florida will leave you in a constant state of exaustion. You will need to spend most of the trip inside the hotel room watching X-rated movies to recover from "the vapors" which will attack you about an hour after being around these awful people.

Yes, puking at their place would be just the added touch needed to ensure you won't be missed.

Personally I'd add fuel to the fire. If you don't deserve to be hated but are anyway, you may as well do something to earn their negativity. Try p00ping the bed or something.

I told Greg that I will probably not be going he keeps trying to tell me that they don't hate me and I don't give them a chance but I can feel the HATe plus the men sit in one room and wtch sports while the ladies chat out on the porch.... I AINT chatting with them, there uppidy Witches!
So I will stay at the hotel and he can give them some excuse why I am not there.. He says it rude but he'll do it I don't think it is rude at all... would they rather me P00P on there bed like Duke Suggests?

I don't know Heather....if you want a life with this man... it may really be worth making the effort tounderstand his friends and the life he was in before you guys got together.
You never know....the women may be older and talk about different things than you do....but nothing bonds women like talking about their babies. It may prove to be a better situation than you think....and a possible future baby shower. Hey....I look ahead! LOL!

No I'm sure no one wants you to leave any unwanted holiday gifts behind.
I'm still sort of curious about the entire construct of this strange little trip to Disney/ Witche's House so that you and Greg can either decide to live together, get married, return his truck, divorce, seperate, put child up for adoption, continue to work together........... WHAT?
Also could you please clear something up for me. Little weird puzzel pieces I've been trying to put together: It sounds like you had a daughter, who is now in her teens, when you were about 20. So you're between 35-40 now? Greg's much older (50-60?). These friends are around his age?
Anyway, I would recommend having meals with them, helping clean up, and then having "the vapors" requiring you to recover in the comfortable confines of the hotel.

Nope I am 24 Greg is 35 I have a 5 year old son and we are taking a trip togeahter to try to communicate and work on our relationship, if it turns in to a big disaster fight ( we had one last night) I will be ending the relationship. If for some god forsaken reason we have some type of breakthrough then I guess it's worth working out...... Honestly I am just hoping I will get laid... ( sorry I am pretty blunt at times) Pregnancy breeds.... well you know.
