What are your favorite type of video games?
My favorite games are the role playing type games like final fantasy.

Role playing games, both limited (Final Fantasies) and nearly unlimited (The Elder Scrolls: Arena series).
Management games, and games that involve extreme amounts of planning. Hey, I am a perfectionist, and I want to be challenged by my games!

It is quite obvious you are a perfectionist. You probably do extremely well at them too.

Whenever I play RTS or management type games*Rome: Total War, for example) I always end up cheating with whatever money cheat there is....
It takes true skill for anyone to exceed at those games... which I lack

Sometimes all it takes is a little patience, which I lack. I tend to do the cheats I find online sometimes. Probably why I don't play very often.

I started gaming back in the eighties, and early nineties. Cheats were often hard to come by (no real internet), or were so complicated to make them work (hex-editing) that one would have to beat the game first, and thoroughly understand its mechanics to actually be able to cheat.
BTW, I have managed to play some games so well, that my score became negative, due to overflows ... that is frustrating .

She won't play the game but she does play Black and White 2, and the Sims 2. She also loves to watch me play Half Life 2 and Doom 3. I hope to get her into driving games because I've seen her on one at an arcade once and she was pretty good.
The games I play:
- Half Life 2
- Doom 3 and ROE (Return of Evil)
- rFactor
- IL 2 Sturmovik, Aces Expansion, Battle over Europe and hopefully Sturmovik 1946 (release date postponed).
- Call of Duty 2
- Black and White 2
- Armed Assault (a friend of mine is sending me a copy from Germany as the NA version won't be released 'til feb 07).
I prefer games that are as close to simulation as possible. If a game is somewhat arcade in feel (Doom 3, Half Life 2, Call of Duty 2), it must be unique, immeresive and well done.
There is nothing more intense than playing a simulation however because it really is a battle of wits, intelligence, patience and skill.
