I haven't played any games on my computer other than spider solitare in a long time. The last real game I played was Myst. I like to play but just don't want to spend every last minute on this computer and I know I would get hooked if I found a good role playing game.

Now it is mostly Neverwinter Nights (with custom expansions), and I am doing a replay of Final Fantasy VII, with a very hard challenge. There are reasons to suspect that the challenge is next to impossible, but I won't bother anyone with that.

Old games - I am not really willing to buy a new computer, that will be obsolete in a few years anyway. At least not until the current computer dies.

Is Neverwinter Nights a role playing game? I like those the best. My husband, daughter and son all have played every Final Fantasy game that came out. My daughter wants to be a computer animator for the company that makes Final Fantasy. I played when they first came out but lost interest as the kids took over my role of helping my hubby.

role playing games i love although i haven't played any in years.

I've played the King Quest games, the Gabriel Knight games and the phantasmagoria ones. the phantasmagoria ones were the best IMO.

I have more here but can't remember what they're called. they're collecting dust in my cd holder.

I just don't have the time to play these games anymore. now, i just play backgammon and luxor. quick 10 minute games.

NWN can be considered a role playing game of some sorts. You create your own character, give it abilites, collect weapons, money and such. The character develops, as you gain more experience by defeating monsters, and completing quests.
The game is set in a world based on altered Dungeons & Dragons rules. There is magic in this world, as well as different races like elves, dwarves, gnomes, halflings, orcs etc. Strange deities. It offers a lot of possibilities, and those rules are quite popular to play with. Even in real life, people often get together to play an adventure, and have a good time (as a board game).

But it is sadly also possible to develop a character that does not make much sense at all. What to think of a law abiding, morally good paladin/rogue/monk? Let's backstab and bribe, because that is the pious thing to do.
However, there are thousands of characters you can create. It should not be too hard to create one you are happy with.

I can't learn how to play them. It's too complicated for me to do all this stuff at one time. It goes too fast. Then, they remember 'cheats' they get off of the internet and I can't remember any of THAT either.

I love age of empires and any of the building type games but I don't have time to play games very often. Before my son was born, they would keep me occupied for hours.
