I am suddenly thinking Norah Jones ... but that is probably way too young.

Over 35, aka obsolete or ancient. My mom has the habit of listening to music, that was recorded in the middle of the nineteenth century (slighty exaggerated, but still).

4. Is she originally from North America?

(Have to rule out Europe).
